Hotel Description

Look, I’ve walked past this little place on Via del Babuino probably a dozen times before I actually stayed there, and honestly? It’s one of those gems that doesn’t scream for attention but totally delivers when you need it to. The name says “Comfort Rooms” and that’s exactly what you get – nothing fancy, but everything works the way it should.

The location is what really gets me excited about this place. You’re literally a three-minute walk from the Spanish Steps, which sounds touristy until you realize what that actually means for your daily routine. I mean, you can grab your morning cappuccino at one of the cafés near Piazza di Spagna, then wander down Via del Corso for some shopping, or head the other direction toward Villa Borghese when you need to escape the crowds. And here’s something most people don’t think about – being on Via del Babuino puts you right in the heart of Rome’s antique district, so you’ll find yourself window shopping at these incredible art galleries and vintage shops that locals actually frequent. The street itself has this nice energy during the day but quiets down at night, which is perfect because you’re not dealing with the late-night chaos you get closer to the Trevi Fountain area.

The rooms themselves are pretty straightforward – clean, comfortable beds, decent-sized bathrooms, and air conditioning that actually works (trust me, in July you’ll appreciate this). I wouldn’t call them spacious, but honestly, who spends time in their hotel room in Rome anyway? What I really liked was how quiet it stays despite being in such a central location. The building has thick walls – you know, that old Roman construction – so you’re not hearing every conversation from the hallway or street noise all night. The staff is genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. They gave me solid restaurant recommendations that weren’t the typical tourist traps, and when I had an issue with my room key, they sorted it out immediately without making me feel like I was bothering them. The 7.8 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury amenities, but it nails the basics while putting you exactly where you want to be. For the price point in this neighborhood, you’re getting really good value. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning to spend most of my time exploring central Rome on foot.

Reviews

  • We loved our stay, we will be back for sure 🙂 – Katarzyna from Poland – 24 April 2025 (9/10)

Amazing terrace and perfect location, very kind and helpful staff

What could be improved: The damp smell from the bathroom – it would be great if you could improve that, but I realise that it is probably very difficult in historic buildings

  • Superb – Celine from Australia – 23 April 2025 (9/10)

    The location

What could be improved: I expected some slippers but it was not a big problem. The shower was leaking some water to the floor.

  • Its ok – Silvia from Bulgaria – 20 January 2025 (8/10)

    Central location. Easy to find

What could be improved: They made us wait outside on cold 1h while not answering phone calls and ringing on the door. On my bday. And even said happy bday, no matter it was indicated on the reservation

  • Superb – Konstantinos from United Kingdom – 6 December 2024 (9/10)

Location and staff was great. The room was clean and well equipped.

What could be improved: There was a door bell outside the room . Not a big deal but surely this can be improved

  • Great choice for visiting Rome! – Milan-alexandru from Romania – 12 November 2024 (9/10)

    All good!

What could be improved: No doors closet.

  • Great location. – Daniel from Canada – 7 November 2024 (8/10)

    Great location.

  • Superb – Georgios from Greece – 30 October 2024 (9/10)

Very nice location, clean rooms and a very nice rooftop, something that was imporant when booking in Rome. We didn't need our room to be cleaned on the first night and the small chocolate as a "thank you" was also nice.

The bathroom was very good and comfortable and the same goes for the beds

What could be improved: I will not deduct points for this, but I really cannot understand why the city tax cant be included on the final price. Being asked for extra money and for some reason only on cash was kind of weird. Dont say it's wrong, just not the way Im used to do it.

Also beware for the entrance, it's easy to miss it, if it comes to that just call the hotel.

  • Good – Alice from Sweden – 9 September 2024 (7/10)

Location of the hotel was perfect, very central.
    Cleaning was good.

What could be improved: Be prepared to walk a lot of stairs (we stayed at the 4th floor).
No lobby – we thought it would be more like a hotel but it’s more like an apartment hotel without kitchen.

  • Great accomodation. Very central. – Fotini from Australia – 14 August 2024 (7/10)

    We loved the location.

What could be improved: No lift. Difficult to get to top story.

  • Great stay, great location, great value for money – Basma from Egypt – 19 July 2024 (8/10)

Great location and value for money, rooms very clean

What could be improved: The stairs
