Via del Velabro runs between some of Rome’s most ancient sites, so you’ll find yourself wandering past medieval churches and Roman ruins just getting back to your hotel. The Palatine Hill is right there, and you can easily walk to Trastevere for dinner without dealing with crowded metro stations.
