Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Numa Rome Verso? It’s actually tucked away in Gianicolense, which honestly most tourists skip right over – and that’s exactly why I ended up loving it. The address says Via Ippolito Nievo, but what it doesn’t tell you is that you’re basically in this authentic Roman neighborhood where locals are walking their dogs and chatting with shopkeepers, not posing for selfies every five minutes.

The hotel itself has this modern, minimalist thing going on that somehow doesn’t feel cold or sterile. I mean, you walk into the lobby and there’s this clean design that’s actually welcoming – sort of like staying at a friend’s place if your friend happened to have really good taste and zero clutter. The staff genuinely knows their stuff too, not just the scripted tourist recommendations. When I asked about getting to Villa Doria Pamphili (which is literally a few minutes away), the guy at the desk told me about this little entrance that locals use to avoid the main crowds. That’s the kind of detail that makes a difference, you know?

What really sold me on this place was the location – and I don’t mean “convenient location” in that generic travel brochure way. I’m talking about being able to walk to Trastevere in about fifteen minutes, but coming home to a neighborhood where you can actually hear yourself think. You’ve got the Gianicolo Hill right there, which honestly has some of the best views of Rome without the Palatine Hill madness. Plus, there’s this little trattoria called Da Enzo that’s maybe a three-minute walk away – the kind of place where Romans actually eat, not just tourists following Instagram maps. The whole area feels lived-in, if that makes sense. You’ll see kids playing in the small piazzas and older folks sitting outside cafes, especially in the early evening when the light hits the buildings just right. It’s Rome, but it’s the Rome people actually live in. The rooms are solid too – nothing fancy, but everything works and the beds are actually comfortable (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given in European hotels). The 9.2 rating makes sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but it nails the basics and then some.

  • Superb – Yasir from Iraq – 27 June 2025 (9/10)

Almost everything was good , and the location is near to the public transportation, plus there is a good supermarket with good prices near the buildings , the check-in was easy.

What could be improved: The bathroom, there is no water drain hole , and the door of the shower is not closed well ,so the water runs outside the shower

  • Comfortable and convenient and quiet. – Alice from Switzerland – 19 June 2025 (8/10)

Spacious, quiet, well-equipped, perfect location for our activities in Rome

What could be improved: Noncompliance ts and it’s clear that the strategy to stay affordable is based on economy with staff, it is always more interesting and comfortable to have staff, and we missed people. But for the model they use, they do it very well.
