Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of Roman hotels, and honestly? NTB Roma gets it right in ways that surprised me. Tucked away on Via del Leoncino – which is basically this narrow little street that feels like a secret between Via del Corso and the Spanish Steps – it’s one of those places where location actually means something beyond just “close to stuff.” I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Spanish Steps, but here’s the thing nobody tells you: you can duck down this side street and suddenly you’re away from all those crowds taking selfies with gelato.

The building itself has that understated Roman elegance thing going on – you know, where it looks almost modest from the outside but then you step inside and think “oh, okay, this is nice.” The lobby’s got these warm marble floors that don’t echo like crazy (trust me, after walking on cobblestones all day, your feet notice), and the staff… well, they actually seem to know the neighborhood. When I asked about breakfast spots, the guy at the desk didn’t just point me toward some tourist trap – he sent me to this little place around the corner where locals grab their morning cornetto. That’s the kind of detail that makes a 9.2 rating make sense, honestly. The rooms are what you’d expect from a proper 4-star – clean lines, good lighting, and thankfully, windows that actually block out the street noise. Because let’s be real, Rome is not quiet, but somehow at night on Via del Leoncino, it settles into this pleasant hum rather than the chaos you get on the main drags.

What really got me though was how they handle the whole “being in the center of everything” thing without making you feel like you’re staying in a tourist factory. You can walk to Pantheon in about eight minutes (I timed it), hit up the Trevi Fountain without planning your whole day around it, and when you need groceries or just want to see how Romans actually live, there’s a little market tucked behind the hotel that most visitors never find. The area gets busy during the day – I mean, it’s Rome – but early mornings and evenings have this almost residential feel. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the hotel smells right. Not like cleaning products or that generic hotel scent, just… clean and maybe slightly like the good kind of old building. It’s those little things that make you feel like you picked well, you know? If you’re looking for somewhere that puts you in the heart of Rome without making you feel like you’re staying in Times Square, this place delivers.

We loved the location and how sweet and helpful Silvia was in advising us places to check out. The location is great since it’s a 20 min walk to Vatican City and then a 20 min walk to the Roman forum and other museums. There is also a grocery store across the street and feels like a very great neighborhood. We loved our stay here and will highly recommend it to other travelers to Rome
