Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to the Novotel Roma Eur on Viale Oceano Pacifico, I wasn’t expecting much. It’s tucked away in Torrino, which honestly feels more like a modern business district than the Rome you see on postcards. But you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, especially if you’re flying in or out of Fiumicino and don’t want to deal with the chaos of central Rome every single day.

The thing about this place is that it actually gets the balance right between being a proper hotel and not trying too hard to be something it’s not. The lobby has that clean, contemporary Novotel vibe – nothing fancy, but everything works. Check-in was smooth (I arrived around 2 PM on a Tuesday, so maybe I got lucky), and the staff genuinely seemed to know what they were doing. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star – comfortable bed, decent shower pressure, and thankfully, good blackout curtains because the morning sun can be brutal on that side of the building. I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, but after a long day of walking around the Colosseum, you’re not really caring about whether the desk lamp is Instagram-worthy.

What really won me over was the location’s practicality. Sure, you’re about 30 minutes from the Pantheon by metro, but here’s the thing – you’re also five minutes from some genuinely good local restaurants that tourists never find. There’s this little trattoria just off Via Cristoforo Colombo that the concierge mentioned, and honestly, it was better than half the places I ate near the Vatican. Plus, if you’ve got an early flight, you can literally be at the airport in 20 minutes without the stress of navigating Rome’s morning traffic from the city center. The parking situation is sorted too, which – trust me – is worth its weight in gold if you’re driving. I’ve stayed at places in central Rome where finding parking added an hour to every return trip. The area gets pretty quiet after business hours, so if you’re a light sleeper, you’ll actually get some rest here. Sometimes you hear planes, but it’s not constant, and honestly, after a few days of Roman traffic noise, it’s almost soothing. The 8.3 rating makes sense – it’s not luxury, but it delivers on what it promises without any unpleasant surprises.

  Stayed 2 nights here with family, great hotel as all Novotels we stayed, when you are going somewhere and Novotel is present in that city, you can book and be sure it will not be a mistake, like the Novotel Salerno and Novotel Roma Eur, everyone here were very friendly, trying to help all the time, a big Thanks to everyone ! Special thanks to the restaurant, we had dinner there, made a reservation, and to our surprise the food was better than we expected, and better that in some fancy restaurants in the city, and much better priced!
  Cleaning every day, breakfast was great, parking, location, everything was great !!! Untill next time in Rome ! Will not even try anything else, when I know the place I should go to!
  
  What could be improved: The only 2 downsides on this one is the lack of a pool, kids were really hoping there will be one, and the second downside I would say is that the rooms would probably need a little renovation soon, nothing dramatic but it would be a good improvement, overall a great stay with a great value for money !

  Good rooms, clean and comfortable. Restaurant and bar with wide selection of food and beverages, prices are fine, not overpriced. Breakfast is great with wide selection for everyone. Also at a demand there is a wide selection of gluten and lactose free breakfast options.
  
  What could be improved: The location is difficult to reach without a car. Bar closes very early and there is nothing else close in the area to go.
