Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to the Novotel Roma Est on Via Andrea Noale, I wasn’t expecting much. It’s way out in the Tiburtina area, which honestly feels more like suburban Rome than the postcard version most people picture. But you know what? Sometimes being wrong feels pretty good.
The thing about this place is that it actually gets what business travelers need without trying to be something it’s not. The lobby’s got that clean, modern Novotel vibe – nothing fancy, but everything works. Check-in was smooth (I mean, it better be for a 4-star place), and the staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions. What really surprised me was how quiet my room was, considering you’re pretty close to the ring road system. I’m a light sleeper, so this matters – the soundproofing actually does its job here. The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from Novotel: functional, comfortable beds, decent shower pressure, and that slightly generic but clean aesthetic they’ve perfected. Nothing revolutionary, but honestly, after a long day of meetings or sightseeing, sometimes you just want things to work without drama.
Here’s the real talk about the location though – yes, you’re about 20 minutes from central Rome by metro, but the Tiburtina station is actually pretty convenient once you figure out the system. Plus, if you’re flying in or out of Fiumicino, the airport train stops right at Tiburtina, which saves you the headache of dragging luggage across the city. The neighborhood itself is… well, it’s residential Rome. There’s a decent shopping center nearby if you need basics, and honestly, some of the local restaurants around here serve better food than the tourist traps near the Colosseum – and for half the price. I stumbled into this little trattoria about three blocks away that doesn’t even have an English menu, but the pasta was incredible.
The hotel restaurant is fine – nothing to write home about, but the breakfast spread hits all the right notes if you’re rushing out for morning meetings. What I really appreciated was the fitness center actually being equipped properly (not just two broken treadmills like some places), and the parking situation is straightforward if you’re driving. During my stay in late spring, the place felt busy but not chaotic – seems like they get a good mix of business travelers and tourists who’ve figured out that staying slightly outside the center can save you serious money without sacrificing comfort. The 8-star rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

The hotel is really nice and the stuff is great. The location is very bad. The pool is cool for the kids and the food is good.
What could be improved: The location is bad. Hard to get to Rome. Long distance even with the train. The train works until 22:00. No train on Sunday.Good – Sachin from United Kingdom – 19 June 2024 (7/10)
Room and facilities are great. Room is spacious and clean. Friendly staff.
What could be improved: Restricted access to hotel if you are getting there by train. We had to walk around for 15 minutes to find a tiny printout pointing to a narrow path through open field. Signposts should have been bigger and better. Restaurant closes early, expected longer opening hours from a 4-star hotel.Good – Francois from Belgium – 13 June 2024 (7/10)

Good clean friendly hotel
What could be improved: Location was in the middle of nowhereOver all it worth it for the money. Safer than the city center hotels – Yilmaz from Canada – 19 May 2025 (8/10)
Overall, the hotel was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and well. Breakfast was good. Quite and beautiful place in the nature.
What could be improved: Only three things I can criticize which were very small shower and the second bed (for my daughter) was uncomfortable because it was a sofa bed. The location of the hotel was far from the city centre and the access of the train station was not good. For this reason, I rented a car for easy transportation after the first train trip.Very good – Milos from Montenegro – 5 May 2025 (8/10)
Good value for money. We got complementary use of garage which was very nice. The staff was polite and efficient.
What could be improved: The location a bit remote from the city center, but convenient if you come with your car. The room itself could use a bit love and maintenance, plastic shower curtains are not a hotel standard for a long time.It was really good, it can be repeated – Taher from Jordan – 10 February 2025 (8/10)
It is quit , clean , private parking.
