Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about NEW PARADISE? The name sounds like it’s trying way too hard, but honestly, this place delivers on comfort in a way that surprised me. It’s tucked right on Via Gavinana in Prati – and I mean actually in Prati, not some tourist-trap version of it. When you step outside, you’re in a proper Roman neighborhood where locals grab their morning cornetto and espresso at the bar on the corner.

The 4-star rating isn’t just hotel marketing fluff here. The rooms feel solid, well-maintained, and there’s this attention to detail that you notice after staying in a few too many European hotels that promise more than they deliver. The bedding is actually good (not those thin sheets that feel like sandpaper), and the bathrooms have decent water pressure – which, let’s be honest, can be hit or miss in Rome. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Prati doesn’t have the chaos of Centro Storico, so you can actually sleep without earplugs. The AC works properly too, which matters more than you’d think if you’re visiting in summer.

Location-wise, you’re about a 15-minute walk to the Vatican, but here’s the thing – you’re approaching it from the side most tourists never see. Instead of fighting crowds coming from the river, you’re walking through actual Roman streets where people live and work. There’s a fantastic little trattoria called Da Enzo that’s maybe 200 meters away (the locals pack it for lunch), and you can catch the Metro A line at Lepanto station without much fuss. The 8.2 rating makes sense when you factor in that you’re getting genuine neighborhood access without paying Centro Storico prices. I mean, parking is still Rome parking – basically forget about it unless you enjoy stress – but the hotel staff actually knows the area well enough to give you real directions, not just “turn left at the big street.” It’s one of those places where you feel like you’re staying in Rome rather than just visiting it.

  Everything was perfect. It’s near to metro station. The room was clean, huge and bright. There were enough socket to charge your phone, blow dryer and etc.. There is balcony in the room and it’s a plus for us. The host was very friendly and accommodating. There is vending machine for drinks. They don’t have keys on the apartment, instead you have use your phone to open it. It’s all automated. Over all we like our stay and we will definitely come back!

  There was no breakfast included but we made do with breakfast foods from the grocery store. There was a great coffee machine on our floor. Francesca was extremely helpful and saved the day for us with our device issues and negotiating the city.

  Excellent location , very close to the Vatican . very pleasant and accommodating staff . Pasquel helped organise our transfer to the airport and stored all our luggage until we left late in the afternoon

  Good location in a quiet part of Rome, right by Lepanto metro station. Restaurants and shops are a 10 minute walk away and you can walk over the river into the historic center quite easily. Room was big, bathroom was modern and clean.
