Hotel Description

You know what surprised me most about Navona Open Space Apartments? It’s tucked away on Via di Panico – and I mean really tucked away – but you’re literally a two-minute walk from the Pantheon. I’m not exaggerating. When I first found the place, I actually walked past it twice because the entrance is pretty understated, which honestly turned out to be a blessing since you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos that hits the main piazzas.

The apartments themselves feel more like staying at a stylish friend’s place than a typical hotel. Mine had this great mix of modern amenities (thank god for decent WiFi and air conditioning in August) with some original Roman touches – exposed beams, that sort of thing. The kitchen was actually functional, not just for show, which meant I could grab fresh stuff from the little market on Via dei Cappuccini and have breakfast without fighting crowds at cafés every morning. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, and here’s something you don’t always get in Rome – good water pressure. The beds were comfortable enough, though the pillows were a bit soft for my taste. Space-wise, it felt generous for Rome standards, especially compared to some of the shoebox hotels near the Spanish Steps.

What really makes this place work is the location without the location penalty, if that makes sense. You’re in the heart of everything – I mean, you can see the dome of Sant’Agnese from some windows – but Via di Panico stays relatively quiet, especially at night. The street’s narrow enough that delivery trucks can’t really get through, so you’re not dealing with that early morning rumble that wakes you up in other parts of the centro storico. Walking to Trastevere takes maybe fifteen minutes along the river, and you’re close enough to Campo de’ Fiori that you can pop over for dinner without it being a whole expedition. The 7.6 rating feels about right – it’s solid, dependable, well-located, but not trying to be something fancy it’s not. Staff was helpful when I needed them, check-in was smooth, and they actually had good recommendations for restaurants that weren’t total tourist traps. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re living in Rome for a few days rather than just visiting, this hits that sweet spot.

Reviews

  • Met all of our needs. – Davidson from Canada – 4 July 2025 (8/10)

Location was great. Central to all of the things we wanted to see in Rome.

What could be improved: The shower could have been a little bigger. If you are a bigger person the shower experience would not be good.

  • The Host was so sweet and helped us with our bags up the stairs and answered all our questions and was all around great! – Beverly from United States – 18 May 2025 (8/10)

The location was great. The apartment worked well for the three of us. The amenities were all there and appreciated

What could be improved: The bathroom was small and getting into and out of the shower was a bit cumbersome.

  • Great location for all Rome – Michelle from United Kingdom – 12 May 2025 (9/10)

Great location, very comfortable and clean, owners were very polite and kind.

  • The location of the apartment was central to all of the sites we visited. The neighborhood felt safe, and lively. The st – Way from United States – 9 May 2025 (9/10)

Central location, hot shower, new windows that could eliminate sounds when we wanted.

What could be improved: The stairs were steep, and each step was higher than normal, which can throw off your footing a bit.

  • Perfect location for Roma in the middle of History – Cosmin from Romania – 2 May 2025 (9/10)

Excellent location in the hart of Roma's History. Customer Experience exceed!

  • Very comfortable stay! – Ingrid from Austria – 1 March 2025 (9/10)

Very central location, close to Piazza Navona and many famous sights. Although there are restaurants/bars in the streets, the apartment on the 2nd floor is rather quiet, not very noisy. Comfortable, big bed and sleeping couch.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and the apartment was really clean.

What could be improved: There could have been a bit more kitchenware/cooking equipment like some larger mugs for tea or a salad bowl (there were none) and a few more teaspoons and pots.

  • Great location, spacious and well-equipped, but noisy at night – Eduardo from Argentina – 12 January 2025 (8/10)

The location, the spaciousness, and the amenities and the great view from the terrace.

What could be improved: The nightlife in Trastevere made it difficult to rest. In the living room area, the windows might not be double-glazed, as it remained noisy for sleeping in our case, where we used the sofa beds.

  • Highly recommended, everything we needed for our stay that was far too short. – Robert from Australia – 15 December 2024 (9/10)

The location was excellent. Very quiet given the traffic in the vicinity. Excellent for a short stay. Restaurants in the area were excellent and reasonably priced. There is an excellent cafe on the corner with exceptional service.

What could be improved: The bathroom features were "unique"; some plumbing would benefit from an upgrade. My first impression of the entrance was a little daunting; however, I found it excellent once I entered the apartment.

  • Lovely weekend break, coming back soon to explore more – Matt from United Kingdom – 21 October 2024 (9/10)

Great location central to everything, walking distance to all the sightseeing attractions and plenty of bars and restaurants too, nice open plan apartment with two double beds.Had a great weekend break, looking forward to returning sometime and exploring more

  • Perfect location to discover Rome! – Karen from Canada – 15 September 2024 (8/10)

The property was very clean and comfortable. Our daughter joined us a day later and the staff was extremely accommodating in bringing extra linens & towels. The location is amazing and check in was very smooth.
