Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Navona Historic Luxury Deluxe” I thought it was trying way too hard with that name. But here’s the thing about this little 3-star tucked away on Vicolo delle Vacche: it actually delivers on the historic part, and honestly, that matters more than whatever star rating they’ve got plastered on the door.

You know what struck me first? The location is absolutely perfect, and I mean that in the most practical way possible. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Pantheon – not “walking distance” like hotels love to claim, but actually two minutes of meandering through those narrow Roman streets that make you feel like you’re in a movie. The Piazza Navona is right there too, which means you can grab your morning cappuccino and cornetto from one of the cafés spilling onto the square before the tour groups descend around 10 AM. I actually ended up doing this every single morning because, well, when in Rome, right? The street itself is this tiny vicolo that most tourists never find – it’s tucked behind the main drag, so you get that authentic Roman neighborhood feel without sacrificing convenience.

The rooms themselves are… well, they’re Roman historic building rooms, which means they’ve got character but you’re not getting massive spaces. The ceilings are high (thank god, because August in Rome is brutal), and there’s this old-world charm that actually feels genuine rather than manufactured. I mean, the building dates back centuries, so you’re getting real history, not some theme park version. The 8.1 rating makes sense – it’s not luxury in the modern sense, but it’s comfortable and clean, and the staff actually knows the neighborhood. The guy at reception told me about this little trattoria on Via del Governo Vecchio that I never would have found otherwise, and honestly, that meal ended up being a highlight of my trip. You won’t find a pool or a gym, but you’re staying in the heart of Rome – your gym is walking these ancient streets, and your pool is the Trevi Fountain (metaphorically speaking).

What really sold me on this place was the morning routine I fell into. I’d wake up, step outside, and within minutes I was weaving through the early morning bustle of vendors setting up near Campo de’ Fiori, or heading toward the river for that perfect golden hour light hitting the Tiber. The noise level is surprisingly manageable too – yes, you’ll hear some street sounds, but Vicolo delle Vacche isn’t a main thoroughfare, so you’re not dealing with constant traffic. Just the occasional Vespa and the sound of Romans going about their daily lives, which honestly becomes part of the charm. If you’re looking for a place that puts you right in the thick of things without feeling like you’re staying in a tourist trap, this little spot delivers. It’s not fancy, but it’s Rome, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Reviews

  • Perfect location for nightlife and to walk around Rome – Rodothea from United Kingdom – 12 June 2025 (8/10)

Great communication and detailed information about our stay and suggested places to visit. Perfect location next to Piazza Navona. From there we could walk anywhere in Rome!

What could be improved: Bathroom was a bit inconvenient as there was no real door and it was in the room so as a family it was not really comfortable to use it when someone was in the room

  • Lovely gem of an apartment in a great location! – Sheena from United Kingdom – 31 May 2025 (8/10)

Fantastic location, clean, comfy beds, lovely hosts with good communication.

What could be improved: For a family of 5 the space was a little small but we managed as we were out most of the day. A few little things not working properly but this didn’t really inconvenience us.
Just a suggestion for small things like towel hooks to hang them after use.

  • Great area, in the city center. white, clean apartment, comfy beds, excellent hospitality. Bathroom could be reached not – Simona from Lithuania – 9 February 2025 (8/10)

Excellent location, great apartment, very nice welcoming! Good price! Comfy beds. Clean.

What could be improved: It was one bathroom where you can get in through the bedroom. So not very comfortable when people sleeping to go through. We were six people.

  • Great location, poor facilities, NOT a two bedroom at all. – Dita from Australia – 30 March 2025 (5/10)

Great location. Walking distance to many great sites. 15 mins to Trevi fountain was the highlight.

What could be improved: The property itself is NOT 2 bedroom. We had 1x bedroom, bathroom, and living room where beds were cramped in, curtains didn’t close at all (they weren’t designed to close- one of the curtains was broken off completely), kitchen didn’t have a microwave or oven to warm things up, kitchen had a dirty sponge for cleaning (this was super gross), apart of location and good staff I did not like this place at all. Would not recommend for families.

  • Good – Benoit from Chile – 3 May 2025 (7/10)

    Ubicación

What could be improved: Baño está ubicado en una habitación, no es cómodo cuando viajas con una familia

  • Very good – Allyson from Italy – 27 June 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved: Il bagno era un po’ trascurato

  • Très belle expérience mais n'oubliez pas vos boules quies. Immeuble ancien charmant mais mal isolé. – Frederique from France – 19 May 2025 (7/10)

    Très bel appartement, quartier parfait.

What could be improved: L'immeuble est ancien et donc très bruyant. Impossible de dormir correctement sans boules quies.

  • Good – Laura from Spain – 26 April 2025 (7/10)

    Localización

What could be improved: Muy viejo, el baño necesita reforma.

  • Exceptional – Natalino from Italy – 30 June 2025 (10/10)

    La posizione

  • Genial – Paula from Spain – 15 June 2025 (10/10)

Allotjament molt ben localitzat I molt bonic per dintre. Els amfitrions molt amables.

What could be improved: Només hi ha un lavabo I està dintre una habitació. La porta del lavabo és transparent.
