I wasn’t sure what to expect from MyTinyHome Esquilino when I first walked up to that narrow building on Via dell’Esquilino, but honestly, this place gets it right in ways that surprised me. The location is actually pretty genius if you think about it – you’re literally a three-minute walk from Termini Station, which sounds terrible until you realize how incredibly useful that is. I mean, sure, there’s the usual urban hum, but the building itself is tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the chaos of the main piazzas. What really struck me was how they’ve managed to create these genuinely cozy spaces in what could easily feel cramped. The “tiny home” concept isn’t just marketing speak here – these rooms are thoughtfully designed, with every corner serving a purpose. There’s this warm, almost Nordic feeling to the interiors that somehow works perfectly in Rome, and I found myself appreciating details like the way the lighting actually makes you want to relax rather than rush out to dinner.

The neighborhood itself is where this place really shines, though most people don’t realize it at first glance. Esquilino gets written off as just the train station area, but walk five minutes in any direction and you’ll find some of Rome’s best authentic restaurants – the kind where locals actually eat, not just tourists with guidebooks. There’s this Vietnamese place around the corner that’s become legendary among Romans, and honestly, some of the best Ethiopian food I’ve had anywhere. The morning routine here is pretty sweet too – you can grab proper coffee from the bar downstairs (and I mean proper, not hotel lobby coffee), then either hop on the metro to anywhere in the city or just wander toward Santa Maria Maggiore, which is this stunning basilica that somehow doesn’t get the crowds of the Pantheon. The staff actually knows the area well enough to point you toward the good stuff, which is rarer than you’d think in Rome hotels.

Look, I’ll be straight with you – this isn’t luxury in the traditional sense, and if you need a massive bathroom and room service, you’ll want to look elsewhere. But there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on doing the essentials really well rather than trying to be everything to everyone. The whole experience feels more like staying in a well-designed apartment than a hotel, which works perfectly if you’re planning to actually explore Rome rather than hang out in your room. The 8.1 rating makes sense to me – it’s not perfect, but it’s got character and genuine thoughtfulness behind it. Plus, and this matters more than people admit, the check-in process is actually pleasant rather than a bureaucratic nightmare. For the price point and location, especially if you’re the type who appreciates good design without the pretension, MyTinyHome Esquilino delivers something that feels both distinctly Roman and refreshingly modern.

  Location is good and amenites are ok, just less than 5min from termini station and 20-30minutes walk to different sites, also just in front of a very nice church!
  
  What could be improved: Only thing i didnt like about the property is the doors connecting the room, we can literally hear them talking from the other rooms, maybe this can be changed into a complete wall, but aside from that, everything was perfect!

  Older building, but lots of modern updates in the room. Beds are comfortable, shower is excellent. Great security. Location is within walking distance of tourist destinations or metro.
