I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from all the action, but when you close the door at night, you actually get some peace – which, honestly, is pretty rare in this neighborhood.

The building itself has that authentic Roman character that you can’t fake – thick walls, those gorgeous high ceilings that keep things cool even in August, and windows that open onto the kind of narrow cobblestone street where you’ll hear the occasional Vespa putting around but not the constant rumble of tour buses. What really got me was the attention to detail inside. The renovation feels thoughtful, not like someone just slapped some IKEA furniture in an old apartment and called it a day. The bathrooms are actually spacious (anyone who’s stayed in Rome knows this is basically a miracle), and the kitchenettes are properly equipped – I’m talking real coffee makers, not those sad little pod things. The Wi-Fi is solid too, which matters if you’re trying to work or just want to video call home without looking like you’re speaking through a potato.

Location-wise, you’re in the perfect spot for exploring Trastevere the way locals do. There’s this fantastic little bakery about fifty meters down the street that opens at 6 AM – perfect for grabbing cornetti before the crowds hit. And you know those Instagram-famous restaurants everyone talks about? You can walk to them, sure, but you’ll also stumble onto places like Da Enzo al 29 or Flavio al Velavevodetto that don’t need to advertise because they’re just genuinely good. The 8 tram stops right nearby if you want to cross the river without the walk, and honestly, the evening stroll back from Campo de’ Fiori or the Jewish Quarter is pretty magical when you’re not stressed about catching the last metro. The staff – well, they’re actually helpful without being overly fussy, which I appreciate. They’ll give you real recommendations, not just the standard tourist checklist. One thing to note: like most places in Trastevere, it can get lively on weekend nights, but the location keeps you just far enough from the main bar strips that it’s more “charming Roman neighborhood sounds” than “why did I come here to not sleep.” With an 8.9 rating, it’s clearly hitting the mark for most people, and I get why – it’s one of those places that feels like you’re staying in Rome, not just visiting it.

  The locality of Mou Trastevere House was brilliant. Right in the centre of Trastevere (quaint alley ways, restaurants, cafes, shops, etc) – and just a short walk from the buzzing Piazzi di Santa Maria. Easy access to public transport (Bus no. 63 was the cheapest and most convenient). Bag storage centres within walking distance if required.

  This is the perfect place to stay for a couple of friends – there are two bedrooms, one on the same level and one above the spiral staircase. The wifi worked very well, there was little noise, the tv is set up for you to stream Amazon Video, Netflix and more. The rooms were very spacious, with two full bathrooms for showering. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need for your cooking.
