Hotel Description
You know what? When I first walked up Via Urbana to find this place, I wasn’t expecting much – honestly, the street number made it seem like it’d be buried somewhere touristy. But here’s the thing about Monti that most people don’t get until they’re actually wandering around: it’s got this perfect balance of being central without feeling like you’re drowning in crowds. The apartment sits right in the heart of it all, and I mean that literally – you’re maybe a seven-minute walk from the Colosseum (I timed it), but you’re also surrounded by these tiny wine bars and family-run trattorias that locals actually frequent.
The space itself is… well, spacious is right there in the name, and they’re not lying. I’ve stayed in plenty of Roman apartments where you’re basically living in a glorified closet, but this one actually lets you spread out a bit. The morning light comes in really nicely – there’s something about how it hits the old building walls that makes you feel properly Roman, if that makes sense. What I really appreciated was the kitchen setup; it’s nothing fancy, but it’s got everything you need if you want to grab some ingredients from the Mercato Monti (which happens on weekends, by the way, and it’s absolutely worth checking out). The bathroom’s decent-sized too, which might sound mundane but trust me, after a day of walking around Rome in summer heat, a proper shower matters.
Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I booked: the 7.4 rating is actually pretty solid for this area – anything above 7 in central Rome usually means you’re doing alright. The neighborhood gets lively in the evenings, especially on weekends, but it’s the good kind of lively. You’ll hear people chatting on the street, maybe some music from the bars, but it’s not the obnoxious party noise you get closer to Campo de’ Fiori. If you’re a light sleeper, pack earplugs anyway – this is Rome, after all. The Wi-Fi worked fine (I had to work a few mornings), and check-in was straightforward, though like most places in the city, don’t expect anyone to be waiting around if you show up super early. One thing that really grew on me was how walkable everything is from here – sure, you could take the metro from Cavour station, but honestly, most of the time you’ll just want to wander. The streets around here tell their own stories, and you’ll stumble onto things (like this incredible supplì place on Via del Boschetto) that no guidebook mentions. It’s not luxury, but it’s authentic Roman living without the astronomical price tag.

Reviews
I recommend this apartment. Suitable for 2 families and great location ! – Almida from Albania – 19 July 2023 (8/10)
The location is perfect ! The apartment was very spacious!
What could be improved: I would like that the furniture were more newHeart of Rome – Janika from Estonia – 2 February 2025 (8/10)
Location was perfect. Building is old like 99% of the buildings in Rome and that’s probably the reason of visiting Rome. Apartment was little outdated but as we only slept there it was perfect. If you are planning to sleep on the couch ear plug is a must have accessory.
Windows don’t completely close but I assume you can’t just replace the windows with modern one cause every house is part of history, lot of noise came from the street and 1st night without earplugs I was unable to sleep. Other rooms were fine and no noise.
Host was super helpful and replied within seconds.
Probably one of the best values to get around this location.
Beds were all great, even sofa.
What could be improved: Some machine in the main toilet was making noise every time you went close and it may wake up others (probably both toilets the same but didn’t use second one) But again it’s something you can’t chance and probably common thing to see around old buildings.Pleasant – Pawel from Ireland – 24 April 2025 (6/10)
Apartment located in the center of Rome – very good location
What could be improved: Facilities were poor – kettle was broken on arrival, bathrooms in a bad condition.Exceptional – Thomas from United Kingdom – 7 April 2025 (10/10)
Perfect location and perfect apartment for a family with a little one with space to run around.
Was ok was upset about paying city tax twice – Terry from United Kingdom – 1 April 2025 (5/10)
The city tax was paid through booking.com
And the guy that gave the keys took €36 off me for city tax aswel I like my money back,
Wasn’t happy about thatIt was not cleanest and many basic things did not work. – Maheshwar from United States – 2 August 2023 (1/10)
Nothing except location.
What could be improved: Apartment is worse than motel 6 in USA. It’s very low quality. Second bathroom is smelly and second bedroom AC doesn’t come if you would like 3rd bedroom. Doors doesn’t work for bathrooms and bedrooms. 3rd bedroom is also not clean.
No body soap was provided.Bad – Anonymous from United Kingdom – 13 June 2025 (1/10)
The location was the only good thing about it.
What could be improved: The property smelt of sewage throughout, showers were both blocked. Management company did not sort this out until our 3rd night at the property and it was on the first floor with spiral stairs, which is not mentioned anywhere. Very very poor and disappointing.
What could be improved: Un baño nos dio problemas.
Dos habitaciones comunicadas con una puerta que dejaba entrar la luz de una a otra y molesta al que duerme en la de al lado.
La escalera muy cutre.Appartamento in posizione fantastica e a un ottimo prezzo – Simone from Italy – 25 April 2024 (8/10)
Appartamento molto spazioso e accogliente. La zona è ottimale per visitare la città anche a piedi ma allo stesso tempo è vicina a Termini e alla metro.
What could be improved: Poco luminosoGood – Luis from Mexico – 17 September 2023 (7/10)
Muy amplio, ideal si viajas en grupo
Buena ubicación
What could be improved: Es muy complicado tener agua caliente en la regadera y le hace falta algo de mantenimiento general
