Martina House Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Martina House on Via Lazio, you immediately get that feeling you’ve stumbled onto something special. This four-star boutique property sits right in the heart of Rome‘s elegant Via Veneto district — honestly, the location couldn’t be better if you tried. The building itself has that understated Roman charm that makes you feel like you’re staying in someone’s beautifully appointed home rather than just another hotel.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what really struck me about this place? It’s positioned perfectly between the Spanish Steps and Villa Borghese, which means you can walk to major sights without dealing with the chaos of more touristy areas. Via Veneto has this sophisticated, almost cinematic quality — think Fellini’s “La Dolce Vita” — and you’ll find yourself strolling past elegant cafés and designer boutiques. The couples who stay here absolutely love it, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about having Villa Borghese’s gardens just a few minutes away for morning walks.

The Room Experience

My room was exactly what you’d hope for in a place like this — thoughtfully designed without being overly fussy. The attention to detail really shows, from the quality linens to the way natural light fills the space. What I appreciated most was how quiet everything felt, despite being in such a central location. You get that sense of Roman elegance without the stuffiness that sometimes comes with historic properties. The bathrooms are modern and well-appointed, which honestly makes such a difference after long days of sightseeing.

Breakfast & Daily Rhythms

The Italian breakfast here is simple but done right — fresh pastries, good coffee, and that relaxed morning atmosphere that sets the tone for exploring the city. I actually loved that they offer breakfast to go, which is perfect when you want to catch the early morning light at the Trevi Fountain or beat the crowds at the Vatican. It’s these little thoughtful touches that show they understand how travelers actually want to experience Rome. The kitchen staff takes pride in sourcing quality ingredients for each morning service.

Why Guests Love It

With a 9.2 rating and that impressive location score, Martina House has clearly figured out what matters most to visitors. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place in town — instead, it focuses on being exactly where you want to be, with the kind of genuine hospitality that makes you feel at home. The staff seems to understand that sometimes the best service is simply having everything you need without any fuss. When you’re this close to everything that makes Rome magical, you don’t need unnecessary extras — you just need a beautiful, comfortable base that feels authentically Roman.

Very welcoming, ideal location and great for getting around the city via walking or metro. The recommendations for food were perfect.

  • Claudiu from Romania (10/10)

Our stay in Rome was made even more special by this beautiful hotel, which truly felt like a museum itself. The Art Nouveau style was breathtaking, blending with the artistic heritage of Rome.

The location was perfect, we found ourselves walking everywhere, exploring the city's rich history and vibrant streets, and we barely needed to rely on public transportation (only to Vatican we took the bus).

The owner of the hotel was very kind, always going the extra mile to make us feel welcome.

The hotel itself was spotlessly clean, and the breakfast was delicious, offering a perfect start to our days of exploration.
The hotel provided everything we needed, from toothbrushes to slippers and all the little essentials that made our stay even more comfortable.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome. It’s a perfect blend of beauty, comfort, and exceptional hospitality.

The accommodation has a unique design and is very beautiful. The room we stayed in was relatively small but very comfortable. The host is exceptional; we received a souvenir upon departure and were able to leave our luggage at the location after check-out, as we had an evening flight. Also, the breakfast (cappuccino and croissant) was very good.
