MARITZA S HOUSE IN ROME Overview
First Impressions
When I first walked up to MARITZA S HOUSE IN ROME, I’ll be honest — it doesn’t scream “hotel” from the street. This four-star property sits in a residential building on Via Baldo degli Ubaldi, and you actually need to take the elevator to the first floor to reach the entrance. It’s more like staying at a sophisticated friend’s place than checking into a traditional hotel, which honestly turned out to be exactly what made it special.
The Aurelio Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location in Rome — you’re in the Aurelio district, which means you get that authentic Roman neighborhood feel without the tourist chaos. The Metro A line is super close, so you can be at the Vatican in about 10 minutes or zip into the historic center in under 20. I mean, couples rate this spot 9.0 for good reason. You’ve got local cafés where Romans actually drink their morning espresso, and the evening passeggiata along the tree-lined streets feels genuinely Italian rather than performative.
The Space Itself
My room was spacious in a way that’s pretty rare for Rome — I could actually open my suitcase without rearranging the furniture. The design strikes this nice balance between modern comfort and Italian style, with quality linens and thoughtful touches that show someone really cares about the guest experience. The bathroom was well-appointed, and honestly, the water pressure was better than what I’ve found in some five-star places in the city center. You know what really impressed me? The attention to soundproofing — even though you’re in a residential building, it stays remarkably quiet.
Local Insights
What you won’t find in most guidebooks is how well-connected this area really is. There’s a fantastic local market just a few blocks away where vendors still remember your face after a couple of visits, and the restaurant scene here caters to Romans rather than tourists — which means better food at better prices. I discovered this little trattoria around the corner that serves the kind of cacio e pepe that makes you understand why Romans are so particular about their pasta. The neighborhood also has this relaxed energy in the evenings that I found really appealing after long days of sightseeing.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.3 rating makes perfect sense once you experience how this place operates. Maritza clearly knows hospitality — she’s responsive, genuinely helpful with recommendations, and manages to make you feel welcomed without being intrusive. The property combines the personal touch of a boutique experience with the reliability you want when you’re traveling. Plus, that excellent location score of 9.1 isn’t just marketing speak — you really do get the best of both worlds here, with easy access to major sights and a genuine taste of residential Roman life. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special rather than just booked another hotel room.

The property is located within metres of the Metro station making commuting to the cities attractions a breeze. For those who enjoy walking it’s only 35min away from St Peter’s Cathedral.
