Maison Tritone Overview
Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Rome, and Maison Tritone is one of those hotels that just gets it right. It’s tucked right on Via del Tritone – you know, that street that connects everything between the Spanish Steps and the Quirinal – and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the Trevi Fountain, which sounds touristy until you realize you can grab gelato at 11 PM and toss a coin without fighting crowds.
What struck me first was how quiet it is inside, despite being on a pretty busy street. The building has that solid Roman architecture thing going on – thick walls that actually keep the Vespa noise out, thank god. The rooms have this understated elegance that feels authentically Italian rather than trying too hard to be fancy. I mean, it’s a 4-star place, so you’re not getting marble everywhere, but the details are thoughtful. Good lighting (rare in European hotels, honestly), decent-sized bathrooms, and beds that don’t feel like they were designed for punishment. The staff actually knows the neighborhood – not just the obvious tourist spots, but where to find a proper carbonara or which pharmacy stays open late.
Here’s what I really appreciated: they understand that Rome can be overwhelming. The front desk keeps maps with their own little notes scribbled on them, and they’ll tell you things like “avoid the Pantheon area between 2-4 PM” or “there’s a great wine bar three blocks down Via del Corso that tourists never find.” During my stay in October, they mentioned that the Trevi gets absolutely mobbed around sunset, but if you go around 7 AM with your coffee, you’ll practically have it to yourself – and they were right. The area gets pretty lively at night (you’re close to some solid restaurants and bars), but the hotel itself maintains this calm, residential feel. Parking’s going to be a nightmare like everywhere else in central Rome, but honestly, you don’t need a car here anyway. The metro’s close enough, and most of what you want to see is walkable. Just bring comfortable shoes and maybe pack some patience for the crowds around the fountain – but hey, that’s Rome for you.

Sylviane from United Kingdom (9/10)
The location was prefect as being pretty much in the middle of any spots to go to! The staff was really friendly and super helpful with accommodating for early check-in and keeping bags if needed. We had a family room which was spacious and super clean, including the lovely bathroom! Breakfast was delicious and served any type of dietary, plus the selection of fruits is just outstanding! The plus on breakfast is that they put small portions out but keep topping up when needed, which keeps it fresh and avoids waste.

Raymond from United Kingdom (10/10)
Continental breakfast was first class. All locally sourced fruit was amazing and the blood orange fruit juice was the best.
Kanitaka from Australia (9/10)
The staff, especially the reception who was very kind and helpful when we left. He offered to organise transport to the termini and not only cautioned us about possible luggage theft from the train, but also gave us a safety luggage tie to hold them together safely with lock and key. We were very grateful as he wouldn’t accept anything for it. Thank you very much for your kindness and we will return next time we’re back in Rome

Our stay at Maison Tritone was perfect. It is a 5min walk from the Fontana di Trevi and a 20min walk from the Colosseum. There is also a bus stop exactly outside the apartments. There are a lot of choices for breakfast and the stuff was very polite and ready to help. They let us have an early check in and they also kept our luggage after the check out.
