Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about the Luxury Vatican White House? It’s actually on Via Crescenzio, which honestly is one of those rare Roman streets where you can walk without dodging scooters every five seconds. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute stroll from St. Peter’s Square, but somehow this little stretch feels almost… peaceful? The building itself has this classic Roman elegance thing going on – not flashy, just solid and welcoming in that way Italian hotels do so well.

The inside lives up to that 4-star rating, though I’d say it punches above its weight in some areas. The rooms are what you’d expect from a place with an 8.8 rating – clean, comfortable, with that European attention to detail that Americans always seem surprised by. What really got me was the staff’s local knowledge. The guy at the front desk (I think his name was Marco?) didn’t just give me the usual tourist map routine. He actually drew me a little route to avoid the crowds at the Vatican Museums and told me which gelato place the locals hit up on Via Cola di Rienzo – turns out it’s this tiny spot that doesn’t even have a sign, just look for the line of Romans after 4 PM.

Here’s the thing about staying in Prati though – and this is something you won’t get from the typical hotel descriptions – you’re in a real neighborhood. I’d walk out in the morning and see the same coffee bar regulars, the same woman walking her ridiculously small dog, the same fruit vendor who somehow remembered I liked the really ripe peaches. The Vatican connection is obvious, sure, but what makes this place special is that you’re not stuck in some tourist bubble. You can grab groceries at the Carrefour down the street, hit up the pharmacy when you inevitably need something, or just sit in one of the local piazzas and watch regular Roman life happen. The metro stop at Lepanto is maybe a seven-minute walk, so getting around the city is actually pretty straightforward – though honestly, I found myself walking more than I expected because this part of Rome is just pleasant to wander through. One tiny thing – if you’re a super light sleeper, ask for a room facing the courtyard. The street-facing ones aren’t loud by any means, but you’ll catch the occasional late-night conversation from people walking back from dinner.

Reviews

  • We had a great trip. – Gates from Canada – 16 March 2025 (10/10)

Very spacious and beautiful apartment. We are a family of four but my two sons are both over 6 feet tall at age 16 and 17, plenty of room for all of us. Literally about four blocks from the Vatican, we actually stumbled on the Vatican our first night. The hosts were very responsive to all of our messages and booked us an amazing car to the airport. They have a link to unlock both the front door and the door to the apartment that you use on your phone… It was so simple and fabulous and it meant we didn’t have to keep track of keys.

  • We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay – Remie from United Kingdom – 7 May 2024 (10/10)

Very clean and super accessible to the St Peters Basilica

What could be improved: If we could have more pillows but other than that everything is superb

  • Very nice – James from United States – 13 November 2023 (9/10)

    Everything was great, location, etc

What could be improved: Beds could have been better and they sent me the door code on the day I arrived which was a problem since I had an internet problem on arrival. Would have been better if they sent code earlier.

  • Superb – Isabel from United States – 8 October 2023 (9/10)

The location was superb, the responsiveness from the host Danielle was excellent and the property was very good

  • Great location, beautiful place and we had a great time. The living room was a nice and cozy for spending time with fri – Krithika from United States – 29 September 2023 (8/10)

Great security, easy and seamless Checkin and checkout . Well decorated ..
There was a nice bottle of champagne although we forgot to drink it.. kitchen has coffee and sugar

What could be improved: Shower exceptionally small
    Not enough bedding

  • Good – Thakkar from United States – 14 June 2024 (7/10)

Responsive staff, attentive to needs. Good location and clean

What could be improved: It's very basic. Some of the things like iron didn't work. Water in the kitchen splashes all over. Usually other such apartments in Italy were well equipped with tea bags and coffee, there was nothing here. It's definitely not luxurious

  • Very pleased with this unit. Inform the customer the entrance details or meet upon arrival. – Anonymous from Canada – 30 September 2023 (9/10)

Location, cleanliness, comfortable + , suited our needs.

What could be improved: The communication was a bit iffy re instructions as to how to access the u it. We did finally get them, but unable to call by phone, the security guard did call the number and provided us with info needed to get in. No mention of the entrance key into the courtyard, so we went out without it, and were locked out until a couple came and let us in. Perhaps put a key chain on it with a label. Thanks
