luna in trastevere apartamento Overview

First Impressions

Walking down the narrow cobblestone streets of Trastevere, you’d almost miss luna in trastevere apartamento if you weren’t looking for it — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. Tucked away on Vicolo di San Francesco a Ripa, this four-star gem sits right in the beating heart of one of Rome‘s most authentic neighborhoods. The moment I stepped inside, I knew this wasn’t your typical hotel experience. It’s more like staying in a beautifully curated Roman home that someone just happens to let travelers enjoy.

The Trastevere Experience

You know what I love about this location? You’re literally living like a local in one of Rome’s most coveted areas. Trastevere isn’t just tourist-friendly — it’s where Romans actually want to hang out. Step outside and you’ll find family-run trattorias where the owner’s nonna still makes the pasta, artisan shops selling handmade leather goods, and that perfect morning espresso bar where locals read their newspapers. The location score of 9.7 makes total sense when you realize you can walk to the Vatican in about fifteen minutes, yet you’re staying somewhere that feels completely removed from the tourist chaos.

The Space Itself

The apartment setup here is brilliant — you get the intimacy and space of having your own Roman pied-à-terre without sacrificing any hotel-level comfort. Each unit feels thoughtfully designed, with that perfect balance of modern amenities and authentic Roman character. I mean, you’ll find original architectural details alongside contemporary touches that actually work together. The room layouts are generous by Roman standards, and there’s something really satisfying about having your own little corner of this historic neighborhood to retreat to after a day of exploring.

Morning Rituals

The Italian breakfast here deserves its own mention — it’s not just continental fare thrown together. We’re talking proper Italian morning traditions: perfectly crafted cappuccinos, fresh cornetti that actually taste like they came from the neighborhood bakery, and local specialties that change with what’s seasonal. It sets the right tone for the day, especially when you realize you can take your coffee and step right into one of Rome’s most photogenic neighborhoods. There’s something almost magical about starting your morning this way, then wandering the medieval streets as the city wakes up around you.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.9 rating isn’t just numbers — it reflects what happens when you combine an exceptional location with genuine attention to detail. Couples particularly gravitate toward this place, and I get why. There’s an intimacy to staying here that you simply can’t replicate in a large hotel. You’re not just visiting Rome; you’re temporarily living in one of its most charming corners. The staff understands that travelers want authentic experiences, not manufactured ones, and they’ve created something that feels both special and completely natural. When you’re wandering back through those narrow streets at night, past the glowing restaurant windows and the sound of conversations spilling onto the sidewalks, you’ll understand exactly what makes this place work so well.

To book a hotel in Rome during spring blossoms, visitors plan ahead to pair Trastevere trattorias with Borghese picnics.

Reviews of luna in trastevere apartamento

  • Beki from United States (10/10)

Everything was excellent. Felt very clean and every room was spacious. Excellent A/C unit in each room so highly recommend for the summer. Shower worked very well as I read from other properties showers ran cold quickly. I was nervous to book this place as the number of reviews were low. Loved the host and he really took care of us and immediately texted or called me thru WhatsApp with any questions. It’s not the cheapest property but I would definitely book this place again if I come back to Rome. Take the taxi to carrefour express (it’s a grocery store) from the airport. It’s the easiest way to get there initially (not when coming back from seeing the sights. It’ll be more expensive). I realized after my taxi driver drove around and around and stated the address doesn’t make sense ( or maybe he was an imbecile). My sister arrived smoothly later when I gave her the carrefour address. The oven was out of order which didn’t matter as we didn’t need to bake anything.
When coming back from sightseeing and taking a taxi, I recommend giving the driver the address to Conad which is across the street. It’s cheaper that way and quicker.
    Wifi was good.
There was a washing machine that worked well but no drier so you’ll need to hang dry your clothes. It will take a couple days to dry which wasn’t fun to wait for. There’s a laundry service it seems down the street but didn’t use them so unsure how it is.
Restaurants are very close anywhere from 2 minutes to around 10 min walk depending on the restaurant you want to go to.
There’s an orange taxi sign to get a taxi to see the sights that is a couple min walk which was very convenient for us.
I loved the bed and pillows as they were on the firmer side. My sister has a weak back and never complained about the bed.
Treats, fruits, and drinks were provided by the host which were really appreciated.

The apartment was so clean and had everything we needed. It's in a lovely area, very central to all the lovely bars and restaurants Trastevere has to offer. Rome's historical centre is a short 20-minute walk, and there is so much to see along the way.

All the rooms had towels, shampoo, toothbrush, and slippers. They have a washing machine which was handy to have. Modern fittings.

There was fruit, juice, and milk in the fridge when we arrived. They have a coffee machine with a big basket of coffee pods and other little treats, which was a nice surprise.

We really enjoyed our stay there, and Alex, the owner, was so lovely to deal with. He gave us a map of the city and marked out all the hot spots. We will definitely be back again.

Host met us at apartment and gave us a walk through. Stocked fridge, coffee/tea and even pastries. Wi-fi worked great. Super location, walking distance to everything in Trastevere and major sites. Market right on corner which was so convenient. Apartment was immaculate and also had stocked first aid wall box. Would definitely stay here again. Washing machine a plus too.

  • Adrianna from Poland (9/10)

Apartment opened a couple of weeks ago. Great contact with the owner and everything brand new. Found everything needed in the kitchen and bathroom. Very good localisation near to the various local restaurants of Trastevere district and 15 mins walking distance from the city center.

  • Neculaes from Romania (10/10)

Apartment was fantastic! It's clean, spacious, and cozy, right in the heart of Rome. Alex , the owner, was incredibly friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the Luna in Trastevere apartment to anyone visiting Rome!

  • Kouros from Netherlands (10/10)

My stay at the Luna apartment in Trastevere was truly delightful. The decor was tasteful, the location was perfect, and I immediately felt at home. The apartment was impeccably maintained, and the owner went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Situated in the heart of Rome's historic center, in the vibrant Trastevere district, the apartment is just a stone's throw away from Piazza San Cosimato, the Jewish Ghetto, and the iconic Santa Maria in Trastevere church. Additionally, the famous Portaportese market is within easy walking distance, offering a glimpse into Rome's bustling street life (although do note that it's only open on Sunday mornings). Overall, I highly recommend the apartment LUNA IN TRASTEVERE for its charm, comfort, and unbeatable location.
