Hotel Description
So I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Lombardia40, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a hotel tucked away on the third floor of a Via Veneto building. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t shout about themselves from street level. This little gem actually feels more like staying at a well-connected friend’s incredibly stylish apartment than a traditional hotel, and I mean that in the best possible way.
The location is pretty much perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Rome rather than just visiting it. Via Veneto has this old-school glamour thing going on – it’s where Fellini used to hang out, and you can still feel that creative energy, especially in the early evening when the light hits just right. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Villa Borghese (which, honestly, is where you’ll want to escape when the city gets overwhelming), and the Spanish Steps are close enough that you’ll probably end up there without even planning it. The Barberini Metro stop is right there too, though let’s be real – you’ll probably end up walking everywhere because Rome is just better experienced on foot.
What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail that you only notice after you’ve been there a day or two. The suites actually feel like suites, not just hotel rooms with a sitting area awkwardly shoved in the corner. The kitchenettes are properly equipped – I’m talking real coffee makers, not those tiny hotel contraptions that make sad espresso. The marble bathrooms have this luxurious weight to them, substantial towels that don’t feel like they’ll fall apart after one use. And the beds? Well, let’s just say I had to check the tag because I was seriously considering ordering the same mattress for home. The staff runs the place with this quiet efficiency that makes you feel taken care of without being fussed over. They seem to know exactly when you need recommendations and when you just want to be left alone to figure things out yourself. The building itself is pretty quiet considering you’re in the heart of everything – the thick walls and third-floor location mean you’re insulated from most of the street noise, though you’ll still hear the occasional Vespa rally at 2 AM because, well, it’s Rome.
I’ll admit the entrance isn’t the most obvious – you’re basically looking for a regular apartment building entrance, which threw me off initially. But once you’re up there, it feels like you’ve discovered something special. The whole place has this understated elegance that feels authentically Roman rather than trying too hard to be luxurious. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself lingering over morning coffee on the terrace, planning your day but not feeling rushed to get out and tourist properly. That 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there – it’s not trying to be a flashy five-star palace, but it absolutely nails what it is trying to be.

What could be improved: Nothing at all.Pure gem – Youdya from Israel – 11 March 2025 (10/10)
The suites are located in a typical building among regular flats, but in a perfect location, and this makes you feel like a native during your stay. For me, it's a precious feeling.
The single room is very comfy, clean, big enough, with everything you might need.
The communication was perfect, the team was very helpful and supportive.
What could be improved: Literaly nothing to mentionOverall – highly recommend – Offir from Israel – 22 February 2025 (9/10)
We really liked the suite we stayed in. It was clean and spacious . The design is lovely and updated.
Location was ok, it’s pretty close to main streets and bus lines.
What could be improved: The elevator was a bit small, and there were stairs before so it was a bit difficult with the luggage when checking in and out.
A bit odd that when exiting the room you have the reception, but they stored our luggage when we needed.
