Loft in Trastevere Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Loft in Trastevere on Via di San Francesco di Sales, you immediately get that “I’m staying somewhere special” feeling. This four-star property sits right in the heart of one of Rome‘s most authentic neighborhoods — and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. The building has that perfect Roman charm without feeling touristy, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to experience the real city.
The Trastevere Advantage
You know what’s brilliant about staying here? Trastevere is where Romans actually go to eat and hang out. I mean, you’re literally steps away from some of the best trattorias in the city, and the evening passeggiata along these cobblestone streets is something else entirely. The Tiber is right there too — perfect for those early morning walks before the crowds hit the major sites. Couples especially seem to get this location (they’ve rated it 9.5), and I totally understand why. There’s something romantic about wandering these medieval streets, especially when you can duck back to your place whenever you need a break from sightseeing.
The Space Itself
The room feels more like a stylish Roman apartment than a typical hotel setup. The loft design gives you that airy, lived-in vibe that makes longer stays actually comfortable. What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to blend modern amenities with the neighborhood’s historic character — you get the convenience you need without losing that authentic Roman atmosphere. The space is thoughtfully designed, and you can tell they’ve put real effort into making it feel like a home base rather than just a place to crash.
Getting Around
Here’s the thing about Trastevere — it’s perfectly positioned for exploring Rome on foot, but you’re also well-connected when you need to venture further. The neighborhood itself is like a village within the city, so you can grab your morning coffee at the same bar the locals use, then easily walk across the river to hit the major sites. I found myself using this area as my evening retreat after long days of tourist activities, and that rhythm really worked well.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.1 rating, this place clearly hits the mark for most visitors, and I can see why. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re living in Rome rather than just visiting it. The excellent location score of 9.5 isn’t just marketing speak — you really are in the real heart of the city here. Whether you’re planning romantic dinners at nearby trattorias or using it as your base for exploring Rome’s incredible history, this loft gives you the best of both worlds: authentic neighborhood life and easy access to everything else the city offers.
Rome hotels keep guests close to espresso bars, designer boutiques, and sunset walks along the Tiber.

Walked to all famous spots. Good places to eat close by and across the river. Walked to the Vatican and had a walking tour there. Taxi took us to the front door of the building where the unit is. Bathroom up stairs and down. Nice refrigerator and kitchen area. Air conditioner worked great. Washing machine for laundry.
