Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Locanda Parlamento? The entrance is so understated on Via dei Prefetti that I actually walked past it twice looking for something more… well, hotel-like. But that’s kind of the point – this place sits right in the thick of everything between the Pantheon and the Spanish Steps, yet it feels like a secret only locals know about.
The location is honestly ridiculous in the best way possible. I mean, you’re literally steps from where Romans grab their morning espresso at the counter bars, and Via del Corso – that crazy shopping street where tourists and locals somehow coexist – is right there when you need it. But here’s the thing that surprised me: despite being smack in the centro storico, the rooms are actually quiet. The building itself has that solid Roman construction that just swallows street noise, though if you’re a super light sleeper, maybe mention you’d prefer a room facing the courtyard when you book.
The staff gets it, you know? They’re not doing that overly formal hotel thing – more like knowledgeable friends who happen to work there. When I asked about avoiding the crowds at the Pantheon, the guy at reception didn’t just say “go early” like every guidebook. He told me exactly which approach to take (hint: come from Via della Minerva, not the main piazza) and mentioned this tiny gelateria on Via del Seminario that’s somehow still under the radar. The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star in this part of Rome – clean, comfortable, with those heavy curtains that actually block out light, and air conditioning that works when you need it most. Nothing fancy, but everything works, and honestly, when you’re spending your days wandering through 2,000 years of history, you just want a reliable place to crash.
What really sold me though was stumbling back one evening around 11 PM after too much wine in Trastevere, and the night desk person helped me figure out which buses were still running versus just calling an overpriced taxi. That’s the kind of place this is – they actually care about you having a good time in their city, not just in their hotel. The breakfast is perfectly decent (though skip it if you want the full Roman experience of cappuccino and cornetto at the bar down the street), and there’s something satisfying about starting your day in a place where you can literally walk to the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and Piazza Navona without breaking a sweat – or dealing with the metro during rush hour, which, trust me, you want to avoid.
Is it perfect? Well, the elevator is one of those tiny European ones where you and your luggage become very close friends, and the WiFi can be spotty on higher floors. But honestly, if you’re spending time in your hotel room complaining about internet speed when you’re in the heart of Rome, you’re doing it wrong anyway.

Very clean room in an ideal location – Matthew from United Kingdom – 24 April 2025 (9/10)
The room was very clean and in a very central location with easy access to all the main sites. We walked to these with the colosseum and vatican being the furthest away (only 30 mins).
The staff were very helpful and provided us with maps and updates of our stay via WhatsApp
What could be improved: The only thing we were disappointed with was that the room, whilst having a kitchen sink and power points, did not have a kettle and cups with tea or coffee making facilitiesVery good – Juna from Canada – 14 April 2025 (8/10)
The property is in great location to restaurants, tourist spots. The place is clean.
What could be improved: The elevator is too old. Other than that, it was a great accommodation.Very good – Izabela from Poland – 10 March 2025 (8/10)
Great staff, very helpful. The place is situated within walking distance to many important tourists spots, but at the same time it was quiet.
Excellent accomodation for great price. – Rachel from United Kingdom – 26 February 2025 (9/10)
Amazing cleaning service every day and a fantastic location. The staff were above and beyond helpful and friendly. They look after your luggage before and after check in so don't worry about timings and they direct you to all the transport options etc.
What could be improved: Only drawback I can think of is no kettle in the room but was available in reception. Definitely not a big deal though and stay was great.Superb – Soultana from Greece – 15 January 2025 (9/10)
Clean,cozy
What could be improved: Small bathroom,no soundproof.Cosy, but clean and central – India from Australia – 27 December 2024 (9/10)
Central location and clean space. Helpful and friendly staff
What could be improved: Thin wallsGirls trip to Rome – Jenny from United Kingdom – 2 November 2024 (9/10)
Nice and clean easy check in. Staff helpfull and polite.
What could be improved: As a self-catering apartment, we would have liked 4 glasses or mugs for hot drinks, not plastic, as they melt with boiling water. Maybe teabags and coffee items. Maybe some bowls. As it was a room for 4 people, another mirror in the main room would have been very helpfulGreat stay and great location – Cindy from Ireland – 31 October 2024 (8/10)
The apartment was spotlessly clean and very comfortable to stay in
We found the staff to be exceptionally helpful and friendly and would not hesitate to stay here again
What could be improved: No Tea or coffee making facilities in the room for those of us who get up early!!Superb – Spiliotopoulou from Greece – 29 October 2024 (9/10)
The location is extremely convenient as it is in the city center near all the major monuments. The room was very clean and everyday there was a clean service. The staff was very helpful and polite!
What could be improved: The bathroom could be a bit more spacious and if breakfast was also included it would be nice.We stayed here our first night – set the feeling of Italy off right! – Annie from United States – 25 October 2024 (8/10)
The host was very welcoming and helpful when we asked for recommendations for dining and transportation. The view from the little balcony of our room was so quaint. And the location was within 10 to 15 minutes of so many restaurants and sites to see!
What could be improved: I wished the room had some softer lightening options for nighttime.
