You know what struck me first about LH Hotel Andreotti? The neighborhood actually feels like Rome – not tourist Rome, but the kind of Rome where locals grab espresso at corner bars and argue about football. It’s tucked on Via Castelfidardo, which honestly sounds more impressive than it looks, but that’s exactly why I ended up loving this place. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Termini Station (and I mean actually five minutes, not hotel-brochure five minutes), but somehow you escape that chaotic station energy the moment you turn onto their street.

The hotel itself is one of those classic Roman conversions – you can tell it used to be something else, maybe apartments, with those high ceilings and slightly quirky room layouts that make each stay feel different. My room was on the third floor, and honestly, the elevator is tiny enough that you’ll want to pack light or embrace the stairs. But here’s the thing – once you’re up there, the rooms are surprisingly quiet. I was worried about street noise, especially being so close to the station, but the windows actually do their job. The beds are proper comfortable too, not those rock-hard European mattresses you sometimes get stuck with. The bathroom was small but functional, with decent water pressure (which, let’s be honest, can be hit or miss in Rome).

What really won me over was the breakfast situation – they serve it in this little ground-floor room that fills up with a mix of business travelers catching early trains and tourists planning their Forum visits. The coffee is legitimately good (important in Italy), and while it’s not going to blow your mind, you’ll leave satisfied and caffeinated. The staff behind the desk were the kind of helpful that feels genuine rather than scripted – they knew which metro lines were running late and could actually give directions to places beyond the major tourist spots. I asked about getting to Trastevere for dinner, and the guy didn’t just point me toward a taxi; he walked me through the tram route and mentioned which stop had the best gelato on the way. That’s the kind of local knowledge that makes a difference when you’re trying to feel less like a tourist and more like a temporary Roman. Sure, it’s a three-star place, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or fancy amenities, but for the price point and location, it punches above its weight. You’re paying for position and personality here, not luxury – and sometimes that’s exactly what you want.

  What could be improved: The elevator broke down in the evening, we had to climb 4 floors and I have a knee problem, in the morning it was still not working, had a rough time carrying all the luggages downstairs.

  We were looking for a place close to the termini to catch some sleep and get on our way the next morning. Staff were great and helpful with questions we had fo supper nearby and a couple of other questions. Morning breakfast was very good!

  Excellent central location, far enough walk away from the termini that nights were quiet enough to sleep, wonderful bathroom and comfortable bed made it the perfect short stay!
