Hotel Description
You know what? I was honestly a bit skeptical about staying right next to Termini Station – I mean, train station areas aren’t exactly known for their charm. But the Leonardo Boutique surprised me in the best way possible. Walking up Via Marghera, you’d almost miss it if you weren’t looking, tucked between the typical Roman mix of shops and residential buildings. The facade is understated, which I actually appreciated after seeing so many overly flashy hotel fronts around the city.
The moment you step inside, it’s like entering a different world. The lobby has this warm, contemporary feel – not trying too hard to be trendy, but definitely modern Italian style done right. Check-in was smooth (they actually had my reservation ready, which sadly isn’t always a given), and the staff spoke excellent English without that slightly condescending tone you sometimes get at tourist hotels. What really sold me was the breakfast setup – they’ve got this gorgeous courtyard area that catches the morning light perfectly. I spent way too many mornings there with my cappuccino, watching Romans hurry past on their way to work while I planned my day like the obvious tourist I was.
Here’s the thing about the location that guidebooks don’t tell you – yes, you’re a five-minute walk from Termini, but you’re also perfectly positioned for actual Roman life. Via Nazionale is right there with its mix of shops and restaurants (skip the touristy places and head to the little trattoria on the corner of Via Torino – locals actually eat there). The rooms face away from the main street, so you don’t get the constant hum of traffic that plagues so many central Rome hotels. I could actually open my windows at night, which was a revelation after staying in noisier parts of the city. The room itself was compact but thoughtfully designed – good lighting for reading, a proper desk if you need to work, and a bathroom that didn’t require gymnastics to use the shower. The air conditioning worked without sounding like a jet engine, which honestly deserves its own review in Roman summers. Plus, having the metro literally around the corner meant I could easily reach Trastevere for dinner or the Vatican for morning sightseeing without the stress of navigating Roman traffic or hunting for parking.

What could be improved: No such thinggreat hotel in the central of Rome – Do from France – 9 August 2024 (8/10)
The hotel is really in the center center of Rome, you can easily go around by foot, or take a train / bus. The room is nice, clean, and serviced on a daily basis. It has everything we need. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to visit Rome!
What could be improved: The only point that would need improvement is the receptionist who checked us in that day, we think he is new so maybe with time his service will get better. Other than that, there is nothing else to complain about the hotel!Fantastic night here following an unfortunate bad day – Yasmin from United Kingdom – 25 July 2024 (9/10)
Had a last minute booking here for a night after we had a Passport stolen and couldn't return home.
Really nice change of pace to the awful day we had. Really nice rooms, great staff who accommodated to our needs. The shower was wonderful, very clean rooms in general. I wish we could have experienced more but we just needed to sleep there and checked out next morning. Staff were friendly and I really appreciated the interaction I had with them.
What could be improved: Honestly, just wish we could have spent more time there to get the full experience of amenities- not at all their fault!
