Look, I’ll be straight with you about Le Bellezze Vaticane – the name sounds a bit fancy, but this place is actually refreshingly unpretentious for a 4-star spot this close to Vatican City. When I first walked into the sixth-floor location on Piazza del Risorgimento, I was honestly surprised by how much natural light floods the space. You know what really got me? The fact that you can actually see St. Peter’s dome peeking through some of the windows – not from every room, mind you, but when you do catch that glimpse, it’s pretty spectacular. The elevator ride up might feel a bit slow (Italian buildings, you know), but once you’re up there, the whole energy shifts. It’s like you’re above all the tourist chaos but still right in the thick of things.

What I really appreciate about this place is how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between being tourist-friendly and maintaining some authentic Roman character. The staff actually knows the neighborhood – I mean really knows it. They’ll tell you to grab your morning espresso at the bar downstairs on the corner (not the touristy one by the metro entrance), and they’re right. The rooms themselves are solid, nothing groundbreaking but thoughtfully done. The beds are properly comfortable, which honestly matters more than fancy marble everywhere, and the bathrooms are modern without trying too hard. I stayed here during both shoulder season and peak summer, and while July gets a bit noisy with all the foot traffic from the Vatican crowds, the double-glazed windows actually do their job pretty well.

Here’s the thing that makes this place work – location without the location penalty. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Vatican Museums, but because it’s on the sixth floor of a regular Roman building, you’re not paying those ground-level, right-on-the-tourist-trail prices. The Ottaviano metro stop is right there, so getting to Trastevere or the Colosseum area is dead simple. Parking is… well, it’s Rome, so forget about it, but the metro connection makes that irrelevant anyway. The 8.5 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but everything works properly, the service feels genuine rather than scripted, and you’ll sleep well knowing you found a decent home base without getting completely fleeced. Plus, and this might sound weird, but I actually enjoyed the little ritual of taking that elevator up to the sixth floor each evening. There’s something satisfying about rising above the street level craziness into your own quiet space, especially after a day of navigating Vatican crowds or wandering through Villa Borghese.

  Fantastic location – view of the Basilica dome, right next to the Vatican Museums, very close to St. Peter's Square; very nice contact with the property owners, they were very helpful, answered every question quickly, it was possible to store luggage in the office, a really large apartment – consistent with the description (even for 8 people), right next to the building with the apartment are nice places for breakfast or other meals, and a grocery store open every day until 10:00 PM just around the corner – 30m; Highly recommend!

  Our train was delayed but communication with the reception was great and we were able to check in without problems. The location is great – close to public transport, there are restaurants and a grocery right in the block and many other shops and cafes around. The view from the kitchen window was great – you could almost touch St. Peter´s Cathedral if you tried 🙂

  The location is very near to Vatican, only a few minutes walk. Also accessible to the train station. It is surrounded by plenty of shops, restaurants.The place is nice and clean.

  The apartment is in a very good location. It has all the necessary equipment to make your stay easier. What was not right was the air condition, even though the weather was good, there was so much need for climate, but even if you can need them, they don't work!
  
  What could be improved: When they confirm a time of entering in apartment they should be correct with tourist! It is not good to leave the people to wait half of day to be accommodated!!!

  Very spacious apartment with air conditioning. Would have loved to spend more time here. 3 rooms to sleep in, 2 bathrooms, spacious kitchen.Right by St. Peter's Basilica. Plan to stay here again if we ever get the chance.
  
  What could be improved: Minor things. The shower doors come off the rails really easily, my boys had to fix it. The one air conditioner leaked in the double twin room. We just put a towel down and a bucket.
