Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment you step outside, you’re literally looking down at ancient Roman ruins – I mean, we’re talking about the spot where Julius Caesar was assassinated. The Largo di Torre Argentina Apartment sits right on Via di Torre Argentina, and honestly, it’s one of those locations that makes you feel like you’re living inside a history book rather than just visiting Rome.
The apartment itself is solid – nothing fancy, but it’s got that comfortable, lived-in feel that makes you want to stay longer than planned. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, considering you’re smack in the middle of everything. The building’s got good bones (probably centuries old, knowing Rome), and the 4-star rating feels about right. It’s not going to wow you with marble bathrooms or concierge service, but the essentials are all there, and actually, that’s exactly what you want when you’re spending most of your time exploring the city anyway. The 8.1 rating makes sense too – it’s well above average without being perfect, which honestly describes most of the best places I’ve stayed in Rome.
Here’s the thing about this location that booking sites don’t really capture: you’re a three-minute walk from the Pantheon, but more importantly, you’re in the thick of real Roman life. There’s this tiny coffee bar around the corner where locals grab their morning espresso (and I mean proper espresso, not tourist coffee), and the evening passeggiata – that’s the Italian evening stroll – flows right past your doorstep. The Pantheon area can get absolutely mobbed during peak hours, but early morning or late evening? It’s magical. You’ll hear the city waking up or winding down instead of just the constant hum of tour groups. The apartment gives you that insider’s perspective because you’re not staying in some hotel district – you’re actually in the neighborhood. Sure, you’ll deal with a bit of urban noise during the day (it’s Rome, after all), but that’s part of the charm. Plus, if you need groceries or want to grab dinner without walking far, everything’s within a few blocks. Just don’t expect to drive here – the streets are narrow and parking is basically non-existent, but honestly, you won’t need a car anyway since you can walk to most of the major sites.

Reviews
Very good – Clare from United Kingdom – 28 May 2025 (8/10)
Lovely apartment, fantastic location
What could be improved: Could have done with a mirror in both bedrooms, not just one.The apartment is comfortable, in a great location, very spacious and great value. I would stay again – Silvana from Australia – 10 January 2025 (8/10)
Very spacious and well furnished. Great to have a lift for the luggage. Secure with quiet neighbours. Great location. The apartment is all heated and very comfortable
What could be improved: We loved it but if we had to chose one thing – we didn’t love the bathroom. The shower rained everywhere and wet the entire bathroom. The mould in the bathroom is concerning. The best location in Rome! – Nicky from United Kingdom – 22 April 2024 (9/10)
The location was absolutely spot on. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. When we discovered the hairdryer didn’t work the host went out and bought another one for us to use! Lovely big windows and stunning building.
What could be improved: The bathroom let the apartment down. Very very small, old and with the tiniest shower I have ever seen! The bathroom could really do with a refurb.Very good – Aurélie from Belgium – 16 September 2023 (8/10)
Very nice and clean and well situated
What could be improved: I’ve been bitten by ants 🙁spacious apartment – Meladane from United States – 2 April 2023 (8/10)
spacious rooms
What could be improved: the shower was too small and nowhere to leave our bags before 10amSuperb – Rosalind from Israel – 22 March 2023 (9/10)
The location was excellent, the apartment spacious, very nice set out of the apartment
Great value and you live like an authentic local – Ronald from United States – 8 February 2023 (9/10)
The complex is gorgeous. It’s like a trastevere vibe while still being center city. The high walls made room feel huge and a lot of stuff was fairly walkable.
What could be improved: Like what everyone else said the shower gets cold fast and it floods. You basically gotta turn off shower mid way and let it heat up again. My wife hated it lol. Also it’s like the smallest elevator in the world to get up, hard with luggage.Fantastic location, huge apartment, highly recommended. – Tania from New Zealand – 27 September 2022 (9/10)
Very spacious, fantastic location very Central & lots of restaurants around, felt very safe, lovely entrance, huge beds, clean & very quiet. Appreciated the coffee pods.
What could be improved: The only improvements I’d suggest is a new larger shower (it’s adequate but tiny & leaks), the option to split the huge beds into singles, plus sheets for the sofabed, (I’m sure would have been provided if we asked).Good service, location and price! – Monika from Lithuania – 18 November 2024 (9/10)
The host Elena was amazing! She took care of all our questions and gave good advices!
The place location is very good, you could reach everything by foot.
What could be improved: A little bit of mold somewhere in the corners 😉I would go back but not when it’s too hot – Ambreen from Pakistan – 9 October 2023 (8/10)
