Hotel Description
So I’ve stayed at K Rooms a handful of times now, and honestly? It’s become my go-to spot when I need to be near Termini but don’t want to deal with the chaos right at the station. The thing about Via Montebello is that it’s literally a five-minute walk from all the trains and buses, but you’re just far enough away that you’re not hearing announcements at 6 AM or dealing with the usual station crowds dragging their suitcases past your window at all hours.
The rooms themselves are pretty straightforward – I mean, it’s a 3-star place, so you’re not getting marble bathrooms or anything fancy, but everything works and it’s clean. What I actually appreciate is that they’ve clearly put thought into the practical stuff. The beds are comfortable (not too soft, which is rare in Rome), the wifi actually reaches every corner of the room, and there’s enough outlets that you don’t have to choose between charging your phone and using the hairdryer. The bathrooms are small but well-designed – you know how some Roman hotels have those tiny showers where you basically have to step outside to wash your hair? Not here. Plus, the water pressure is solid, which honestly surprised me the first time I stayed.
You know what really sells me on this place though? The neighborhood feel. There’s this little café right around the corner – Bar Montebello – where the owner, Giuseppe, makes probably the best cornetto in the area, and he’ll remember your order after like two visits. The street itself is quiet enough that you can actually open your windows at night without regretting it, but you’re still walking distance from everything. San Lorenzo is maybe ten minutes away if you want the student vibe and cheaper drinks, or you can head toward the Colosseum in about twenty minutes on foot. The metro stop is right there too, so you’re connected to the rest of the city without any fuss.
I will say, if you’re looking for a hotel with a lot of personality or Instagram-worthy lobby moments, this probably isn’t it. The front desk area is pretty basic, and the staff is friendly but not overly chatty – they’re efficient, which I actually prefer when I’m tired from traveling. Check-in is usually quick, and they’re pretty flexible about luggage storage if you arrive early or need to leave it after checkout. The one thing that might bug some people is that the rooms facing the street can get a bit of morning light, but honestly, that’s helped me avoid oversleeping more than once. Overall, for the price point and location, K Rooms just works. It’s the kind of place where you sleep well, start your day with good coffee nearby, and don’t stress about getting to wherever you need to go in Rome.

It was ok,but let them remove airport shuttle because they don’t provide it – Juliet from Uganda – 9 November 2024 (7/10)
The location was great, room was clean
What could be improved: The fact that it is called a hotel but to me it’s Airbnb,
Try cleaning the electric kettle,it had lime and I called the gentleman and didn’t get much help.
In my booking I paid for a pickup taxi from airport but didn’t get any and was referred to booking.com then no breakfastEasily perfect – Giulia from Italy – 2 November 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: The aircon made a horrible noise, and there wasn't breakfast includedSuperb – Alexander from Italy – 1 July 2024 (9/10)
Modern bathroom, comfortable bed, spacious room
Overall very good, clean apartment. The soundproofing was horrible though, we could hear every sound from the other apar – Lach from Iceland – 29 April 2024 (8/10)
Design
What could be improved: Soundproofing, bed squeakedEnjoyable but noisy from other guests. – Phil from Australia – 24 April 2024 (8/10)
The location was excellent to the train station. The hosts were very responsive to any request, it was clean.
What could be improved: The room we were given had a connection door which didn’t give privacy, not good! Thin walls which also contributed to noise levels and the shower power was poor.
The bed was firm which isn’t to my liking but my wife found it more comfortable than I.Over all great experience. Happy to come back and stay. Best rates compare to other hotels. – Zeeshan from United Arab Emirates – 4 August 2023 (8/10)
Staff was cooperative, location was perfect.
Good furniture / accessories availability. Very near to Rome terminal / 10 mnts walk only. Over all great experience.Good – Steven from Australia – 31 October 2022 (7/10)
The rooms were a cut above the what you would get for a hotel of the same price.
What could be improved: The soundproofing between the rooms was non-existent. A few things were broken or in need of repair. The check in instructions were a little hard to understand.Superb – Peta-lee from Australia – 20 October 2022 (9/10)
It is convenient to the train station. The room was comfortable with a great outlook on the streets of Rome.
What could be improved: As someone that walks everywhere it was far from the main sites but got a few kms in which I didn’t mind too much. no issues if you’re planning to catch the metro everywhere.
