JMartins Roma Suites Overview

Look, I’ll be honest with you – JMartins Roma Suites isn’t going to blow your mind, but there’s something genuinely appealing about this place that keeps drawing me back. It sits right on Via Salandra, which honestly most tourists walk past without noticing, but that’s actually part of its charm. You’re literally a two-minute stroll from the main Via Veneto strip where all the fancy cafes and boutiques are, but you’re tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant buzz of street performers and tour groups at all hours.

The suites themselves are… well, they’re solid. I mean, this is a 3-star place so don’t expect marble bathrooms or anything, but the rooms are surprisingly spacious for Rome – and anyone who’s stayed in this city knows that’s saying something. The kitchenettes are actually functional (I’ve made countless midnight pasta runs to the little grocery store around the corner), and you know what? The air conditioning works properly, which is more than I can say for some pricier places I’ve stayed near the Spanish Steps. The decor is sort of caught between modern and traditional – not Instagram-worthy but comfortable enough that you’ll actually want to hang out in your room. What really gets me is the breakfast situation – they serve it in this small space that feels more like someone’s dining room than a hotel restaurant, and the staff genuinely remembers how you like your coffee after a couple days.

Here’s the thing about the location that you won’t read in other reviews: you’re about a 15-minute walk to the Trevi Fountain, sure, but more importantly, you’re five minutes from some of the best aperitivo spots that actual Romans frequent. There’s this little enoteca on Via Sardegna that locals hit up after work – I discovered it purely by accident one evening when I was too tired to walk to the touristy places. The neighborhood has that perfect balance where you feel like you’re experiencing real Rome without being completely cut off from the major sights. Parking is typical Rome nightmare stuff, but the metro stop at Barberini is close enough that you can easily get around without dealing with traffic. The 7.2 rating feels about right to me – it’s not luxury, but it’s reliable and the value is solid for what you get in this part of the city. If you’re looking for a place where you can actually settle in for a few days without breaking the bank, this works.

Reviews of JMartins Roma Suites

  • Hidden Gem – Josie from United Kingdom – 16 June 2025 (8/10)

Very clean with helpful staff. Felt very safe in this area. Host shared detailed instructions for the stay, which were very helpful.

What could be improved: Little bit far out, for how far you have to walk into Rome. Its on the outskirts of the main part of the city.

  • Good value for money! and a nice walk to the center – Simona from Lithuania – 17 December 2024 (8/10)

the bed and sheets are super good

What could be improved: slightly too tiny space

  • Good choice for a – Dmitry from United States – 15 September 2024 (8/10)

JMartins Roma Suites was perfect for our two-night stay in Rome. Our room was clean and cozy. Even though the checkin time is in the afternoon, the room was ready when we arrived there at nine in the morning and we were let right in. Daniella, who is on sight in the mornings, was very nice and helpful. And you can walk here from the Termini station.

What could be improved: These are not big things, but worth to be aware of. The water pressure in the shower was very weak at times. Beware that there are stares. Also, even though this is close enough to the main attractions, next time we’ll probably choose a more central location.

  • It’s was ok but the staff Daniela is very nice that’s the only reason why I give this rating. – Elaine from United States – 26 June 2024 (7/10)

It’s walking distance to everything. But it’s still a distance. The patio make up for the small room.

What could be improved: WiFi don’t work very well and when contact the host about it there’s no response what so ever. Before checking in the host keep check up on you but once you are checked in. It every man for themselves.

  • Very good – Constantinos from Cyprus – 23 May 2024 (8/10)

What could be improved: No breakfast.

  • Great stay! – Ana from Costa Rica – 5 May 2024 (8/10)

We loved the location. Place was neat and organized. Via whatsapp we had great communication, they helped us arrange private transfer from the airport to the property.

What could be improved: Walls are too thin so you can listen to everything happening around you and other rooms.

  • It was nice but be ready spend more money than you expected – Alisa from Ukraine – 19 February 2024 (7/10)

It’s so nice that u can check in any time u want. The hotel is situated in 20 minutes by walk from Termini and also in 15 minutes from Trevi. You can see Italian courtyard from window. Room was small, but comfortable and clean

What could be improved: We didn’t like that owner took from us 20 euro more because of cleaning he didn’t remind before. In chat after booking he told us about 7 euro tax per day for 1 person. But anything more

  • Good location, nice service from host. However, cold shower and thin walls. – Beth from United Kingdom – 19 November 2023 (7/10)

Good central location, close to the Trevi foundation and transport links. Good communication with host and very easy with remote access. The host was very lovely and checked in on us regularly.

What could be improved: Unfortunately we didn’t have hot water so had cold showers. The walls are also very thin so you hear guests in other room – ear plugs are a must.

  • Very good – Jill from United States – 12 October 2023 (8/10)

Location was very convenient to the train and the attractions.

  • Suggested for short stay conveniently located near the station – Hsin from Italy – 19 May 2023 (6/10)

clean and tide room, near the station and downtown conveniente for visit the city

What could be improved: very small room, with code to enter so haven’t met anybody to welcome us or in care of need.
