J.N.D.Holidays Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to J.N.D.Holidays on Via Gregorio VII, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect — the name doesn’t exactly scream “boutique hotel,” you know? But this four-star property surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked into the Aurelio neighborhood, which feels refreshingly authentic compared to the tourist chaos around the Colosseum. The building itself has that understated Roman elegance that locals seem to prefer over flashy facades.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about staying in Aurelio — you’re still in Rome, but you get to see how the city actually breathes. Via Gregorio VII runs straight toward Vatican City (seriously, it’s like a 15-minute walk), but the street itself is lined with family-run trattorias and corner cafés where you’ll hear more Italian than English. The metro connection is solid too, which means you can easily hop over to the historic center when you want that full tourist experience. Couples seem to really get this balance — I mean, the feedback speaks for itself on that front. The neighborhood truly captures the essence of authentic Roman living.
The Room Experience
My room was larger than I expected, especially by European standards. The décor leans modern without being cold — think clean lines with warm wood accents and good lighting (finally, a hotel that understands you might want to actually read something). The bathroom was well-appointed, and honestly, the water pressure was better than my apartment back home. What struck me most was the attention to small details — proper blackout curtains, enough outlets near the bed, and a mini-fridge that actually keeps things cold. Every element has been thoughtfully designed for comfort.
Daily Rhythms
Breakfast happens in a bright, airy space that feels more like a neighborhood café than a hotel dining room. The spread isn’t massive, but everything I tried was fresh — good coffee, decent pastries, and they actually know how to scramble eggs properly. The staff moves with that relaxed efficiency you find in well-run Italian establishments. There’s also parking available, which is honestly a minor miracle in Rome if you’re brave enough to drive here. The overall dining experience reflects the property’s commitment to quality.
Why Guests Love It
Look, J.N.D.Holidays isn’t trying to be the fanciest place in Rome, and that’s exactly why it works. The 9.3 rating makes sense when you experience the genuine hospitality and realize you’re getting authentic Roman neighborhood vibes without sacrificing comfort. Recent guests keep mentioning the location in their reviews, and I get it — you’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from the crowds to actually relax. It’s the kind of place where you might extend your stay just because it feels right, not because you’re checking boxes on a travel itinerary. This hotel represents true value for discerning travelers.

I had an unforgettable stay at this incredible apartment! The location is unbeatable—just steps away from iconic landmarks, charming cafes, and fun shopping. The apartment itself was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we needed. Our host was outstanding, going above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well-informed, even offering fantastic local recommendations. I highly recommend for an authentic Roman getaway!

My family of five stayed at Alessandra’s place for almost 2 weeks. Location is great, 15 min walk to Vatican, 10 mins to metro, lots of shops/food near by and Alessandra and her family were just wonderful!! They ensured everything we needed was taken care of, were very responsive and just make our stay an absolute delight! This will definitely be our go to place while in Rome!

No Breakfast. The location was great, Super Market was just a block and Restaurants in walking distance. Shopping and Sightseeing about 10-15 minutes by car.
We loved the Size of the Rooms and Lounge Space in the Apartment and Washer/Dryer since we were going to a Cruise after our stay.Michael from United States (10/10)

Spacious, clean apartment with a large, comfortable living room. Great contact with the owner of the apartment. All of our custom requests were completed without a problem.

Really classic European layout and decor. Very cozy. Much cheaper than a hotel for 5 people. We didn't have a chance to eat in or use any of their amenities, but we were completely satisfied. Owner is very personable and helpful.

Immaculately clean, spacious and bright.- the apartment is exactly as the photos depict. The lovely Alessandra and Stefano were very responsive and helpful with all details before and during our stay in Rome. We were greeted by both of them at check in and they left a generous basket of local foods and fresh fruits. The kitchen is well stocked with all essentials. There is a washer and dryer (!) which my family were very grateful to have as it was extremely hot and humid during our stay. My partner was a fan of the huge fluffy towels provided. There is ample free parking on the street if you are driving. Great neighborhood with restaurants, bars and shops. A cafe is located on the ground floor and a large grocery store just across the street. There is a bus stop right in front of the building with a direct line to the city center for €1.50. 20 minute walk to the Vatican. Highly recommend a stay at this lovely family property!
