This four-star gem sits right in Rione Monti — honestly, one of my favorite neighborhoods in Rome — and the location alone makes it worth considering. The building has that classic Roman elegance without being stuffy, and you can tell from the moment you step inside that someone actually cares about the details here.

Here’s what I love about staying in Monti — you’re literally walking distance from the Colosseum (I mean, seriously close), but you’re not stuck in tourist central. The neighborhood has this authentic Roman vibe with little trattorias tucked into side streets and locals going about their daily business. Via Cavour itself is perfect because it connects you to everything without the chaos of the main tourist drags. You’ll find yourself wandering down cobblestone streets discovering places that aren’t in guidebooks, which honestly is half the fun of being in Rome.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was thoughtfully designed — not huge by American standards, but perfectly sized for Rome and genuinely comfortable. What struck me was how they managed to blend modern amenities with that classic Roman character. The bed was actually good (you know how hit-or-miss hotel beds can be), and the bathroom was well-appointed without trying too hard to be fancy. There’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on getting the basics absolutely right rather than overwhelming you with unnecessary extras.

Getting Around

The metro situation here is pretty ideal — Cavour station is right there, which puts you on the B line straight to places like the Spanish Steps or Termini. But honestly, I found myself walking most places because everything feels so accessible from this spot. The Colosseum is maybe a 10-minute stroll, the Roman Forum is right there, and when you want to escape the ancient stuff for a bit, Monti’s wine bars and cafes are literally around the corner. It’s that sweet spot where you can be a tourist when you want and feel like a local when you don’t.

The staff actually knows the neighborhood and can point you toward that perfect little restaurant or tell you the best time to hit the major sites. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back to Rome, honestly.

  The location is perfect, few minutes walk to the colosseum. Carla is the most amazing hostess, so friendly and welcoming, she offered fresh croissants and a cappuccino in the morning was a wonderful touch, free mini fridge that was stocked with water, fizzy drinks and a complimentary bottle of prosecco to celebrate valentines day. A free to use kitchen was useful when we needed some milk for a hot drink and biscuits in the evening. We also used the private transfer service provided by the hotel, our excellent driver remo was lovely he also assisted us with our check in due to us arriving in the evening. The room was immaculate and modern design, big shower with all facilities we needed. Bed was comfy, temperature was perfect, smart TV with all apps needed just need to use your own login, our room had a balcony which was small but convenient if cigarette smoker. Wifi was reliable and quick. Shops and restaurants on the door step. I highly recommend and would definitely return if we stay in Rome in the future.
