Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about I Tre Moschettieri – D’Artagnan? The name sounds like it should be some touristy gimmick, but honestly, this place is the real deal. Tucked into this tiny vicolo right where it meets Via del Corso, it’s got that perfect Roman thing going where you feel like you stumbled onto something locals actually know about. I mean, you’re literally steps from the Trevi Fountain madness, but the moment you duck into Vicolo Sciarra, it’s like the city exhales. The building itself has that worn-stone Roman elegance – not the polished kind they put in brochures, but the lived-in version that makes you want to run your hand along the walls.

The inside surprised me too. They’ve managed to do something that’s actually pretty tricky in Rome – keeping the old-world character without making you feel like you’re sleeping in a museum. The rooms have these lovely high ceilings and the kind of thick walls that keep out the Via del Corso traffic noise, which, let me tell you, is a blessing since that street never really sleeps. What I really appreciated was how they handled the details – the linens are proper quality (not that scratchy stuff you sometimes get), and there’s real attention to lighting, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re trying to read or just wind down after walking your feet off. The bathrooms are well thought out too, with decent water pressure and space to actually move around, though I’ll be honest, they’re not huge – but honestly, who spends their Rome vacation in the bathroom anyway?

Location-wise, this is where they’ve really nailed it. You’re positioned perfectly for that morning coffee run to Sant’Eustachio (about a seven-minute walk through some gorgeous side streets), and the Pantheon is close enough that you can pop over whenever the mood strikes. But here’s the thing most people don’t realize – staying this close to Trevi means you can actually enjoy the fountain. Everyone thinks you have to deal with crowds, but if you walk over early morning or late evening, you get these magical moments when it’s just you and maybe a handful of other people. The staff seemed to get this too – they’re not trying to oversell you on tours or experiences, just genuinely helpful when you need directions or restaurant recommendations. I asked about a good place for cacio e pepe that wasn’t a tourist trap, and the guy at the front desk sent me to this tiny place near Campo de’ Fiori that turned out to be absolutely perfect. That’s the kind of local knowledge that makes a difference. The 9.3 rating makes sense once you’ve been there – it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but it gets all the important stuff right, and honestly, that’s what you want when you’re trying to actually experience Rome rather than just check it off a list.

Great location, 5 minutes walk to Trevi Fountain and Piazza Venezia, bus stop next to the buildings to Colosseum. The restaurant downstairs is very lovely, and my sons love to eat there. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The staff was exceptional. They went above and beyond with assisting us with everything especially communicating with the company that transported our ski luggage from Tyrol. The company was very difficult to contact and deal with but the staff at I Tre Moschettieri D'Artagnan were incredibly helpful in communicating with them and were successful in getting our ski luggage before we went home. Grazie, grazie!!
The accommodations were lovely, clean and the location was excellent!
