Hotel Description

You know what strikes you first about Hotel Trevi? It’s tucked away on this tiny street – Vicolo Del Babuccio – that you’d probably walk past three times before finding it. But honestly, that’s part of its charm. While everyone’s fighting for space around the main piazzas, you’re slipping into this quiet corner that feels like old Rome actually lives here.

The building itself has that weathered elegance you find in this part of the city – I mean, we’re talking about a neighborhood where you can hear the Trevi Fountain if you step outside and listen carefully, but you’re not dealing with the absolute chaos of staying right on top of it. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place – clean, comfortable beds, decent bathrooms that actually have water pressure (not always a given in these older Roman buildings). The staff genuinely seems to care about getting you sorted, which makes a difference when you’re trying to figure out where to grab dinner or how to avoid the tourist traps.

What really works about this place is the location knowledge you get just by being here. You’re a five-minute walk from the Pantheon, but more importantly, you’re near some of the better local spots that don’t have English menus plastered outside. The little enoteca around the corner on Via del Lavatore? That’s where you want to go for wine, not the places with the tourist hawkers. And if you need groceries or pharmacy stuff, there’s a small market tucked behind the main drag that locals actually use. The neighborhood gets busy during the day – it’s central Rome, after all – but evenings have this lovely quiet quality when the day-trippers head back to their cruise ships or hotels in other areas. You’ll hear some street noise, sure, but it’s more the gentle hum of people living their lives rather than the aggressive tourist chaos you get closer to the major landmarks. One thing to know: if you’re arriving by car, forget about it – parking around here is basically impossible and the streets are narrow enough that you’ll stress yourself out trying. But honestly, you don’t need a car anyway. Everything worth seeing is walkable, and the metro connections are decent if you want to venture further out.

Reviews

  • Perfect – Panagiotis from Australia – 29 June 2025 (8/10)

    Close to everything

What could be improved: Security may be needed a lot scammers hanging around

  • This is a great location, unique rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast, and everything was clean. – Bitar from United States – 27 May 2025 (9/10)

The breakfast was excellent. Fresh cooked veggies, eggs, eats, displayed beautifully. The breafast room was comfortable and spacious. We brought my small pet and it was welcomed every where. The staff was very helpful and polite. The room was exceptional and unique. Perfect location. Also, there was an acrheological site on the property; free entrence if you stayed in the hotel…. Wow a free beee!

What could be improved: The elevator was small, but it was Rome! And we have to do like the Romans! We were able to work arround the small size.

  • Superb – Sireerat from Thailand – 21 April 2025 (9/10)

    Super friendly and helpful staff.

  • Rude staff – great location! – Thays from US Virgin Islands – 12 April 2025 (8/10)

Honestly is was odd, once we checked-in into the hotel desk with a person with a very rude attitude we were escolte to a building about 2 blocks away, after they show how to get into our suite (5 keys later) they explain that the common areas(living room, dining and kitchen) are share by others guests. Which they were on the last night of our stay. However our two room rooms were spacious and comfortable, but we felt invaded having people so close. This supposed to be a upgraded, I actually paid double the daily rate and BOOKING didn’t adjust it.

  • 10/10 would highly recommend. – Rebecca from Australia – 29 November 2024 (9/10)

Great location, clean, great facilities, modern

    What could be improved: NA

  • It is nice that it is very near the Trevi Fountain. – Arlynn from United States – 19 November 2024 (9/10)

I love that it is clean. But, elevator is very small, no soap dish. My friend's flight got delayed & she arrived late. I asked the front desk on what is the procedure when she arrives. Front desk told me that it is required to have her arrive in the front desk because they are going to check her in themselves. So, I thought I can just sleep & not worry about it. When she arrived I ended up fetching her on the front desk & I am in another street
    Wrong information endorsement among staff.

What could be improved: Elevator-too small, no uniform implementation & unclear policies.

  • Great hotel close to Trevi fountain – Maria from United States – 30 October 2024 (8/10)

    Great location and staff

What could be improved: Very tiny elevator

  • A wonderful experience – Lori from United States – 15 October 2024 (9/10)

The size of the room was spectacular.

What could be improved: Lift, but it's a European lift so it was expected.

  • Amazing location! Fantastic room when travelling with teenagers. Had plenty of space – Silvana from Australia – 9 October 2024 (9/10)

The room we had had been recently renovated and at their other location only 50m from Trevi Fountain.

  • amazing – Kimberley from Canada – 8 September 2024 (9/10)

    great location
    attentive staff
    clean
