Hotel Description

You know what? Hotel Piemonte isn’t going to win any design awards, but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about this place that actually works in its favor. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from Termini Station – and I’m talking about the kind of walk where you’re not dragging your luggage over cobblestones or up flights of stairs. Via Vicenza is this quiet side street that somehow manages to feel removed from all the chaos around the station, which honestly surprised me the first time I stayed there.

The rooms are… well, they’re exactly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star in Rome. Nothing fancy, but everything works, and the beds are actually comfortable (you’d be amazed how many places get this wrong). What I really appreciate is that they’ve got proper blackout curtains – crucial when you’re dealing with jet lag and those early Roman sunrises. The bathrooms are small but functional, and the water pressure is decent, though it takes a minute to get hot. The staff at reception speaks good English, which is helpful when you’re trying to figure out metro tickets or need restaurant recommendations that aren’t just the tourist traps around the corner.

Here’s the thing about the location that most people don’t realize until they’re actually there – yes, you’re near the station, but you’re also incredibly well-connected to everything else. The Repubblica metro stop is basically right there, and from there you can get to the Colosseum, Vatican, or anywhere else without the hassle of navigating Rome’s… let’s call it “creative” bus system. Plus, there’s this little alimentari just down the street where you can grab actual good coffee and pastries in the morning instead of paying hotel prices. The neighborhood has that lived-in Roman feel – you’ll see locals walking their dogs, kids heading to school, that sort of thing. It’s not sanitized for tourists, which I find refreshing.

The 7.6 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to blow you away, but it does exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. Check-in is straightforward, the WiFi actually works throughout the building, and they’re pretty flexible about luggage storage if you arrive early or need to leave bags after checkout. I’ve stayed there during both busy summer months and quieter winter periods, and the service stays consistent. The air conditioning works when you need it (trust me, you’ll need it in July), and the windows open if you prefer fresh air during the milder months.

Is it Instagram-worthy? Probably not. But honestly, after a long day of walking around Rome, dealing with crowds and tourist prices, there’s something to be said for a place that just… works. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or rooftop bars – you’re paying for a clean, comfortable base that gets you everywhere you want to go without eating your entire travel budget. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Reviews

  • Perfect and will come again. Love the cleanliness and fresh towels. – Normancita from United States – 21 June 2025 (9/10)

Clean and close to station plus church and lots of places to eat.

What could be improved: The staff needs to be more fluent in English. Needs an airport shuttle instead of taxis.

  • I enjoyed the hotel itself, but the unattentive employee at the desk made my stay slightly difficult – Avis from United States – 13 June 2025 (9/10)

The location is excellent. I had to leave for the airport via Roma Termini the next morning, and it was a five-minute walk at most. The housekeeping staff was wonderful. The room was spotless, as was the bathroom, which also had enough towels and a great shower with excellent hot water pressure. I was in the hotel's second building, which had a complex way of entering (see below), and the housekeeper heard me trying to get into the residence. She came out, rescued me, and showed me how to use the mechanism to get in.

What could be improved: When I checked in, the person at the desk tried to be helpful, but was not because he didn't explain fully how to enter the annex residence with a key card at a locked door which seems to need a traditional key. As I said, the housekeeper rescued me, but better directions (in English) are needed at the door to the rooms. Second, I asked for a 7 am wake-up — a wake-up call service is advertised as one of the hotel's amenities — but I never got one, so he neglected to register it. Fortunately, I woke up on my own, but I would have been angry had I not gotten to the airport in time.

  • Excellent location and value for money. – Tushar from United Kingdom – 2 June 2025 (9/10)

Excellent location. Just 5 to 7 minute walk from Roma termini train station ( take the Via Marsala exit in the station ).
5 to 7 minute walk to the hop on hop off bus tour starting point.
Two minimarkets on the same street.
Spacious clean room , enough for family of 4.
Excellent breakfast ( cold meats, boiled egg, cakes, cheeses, pastries, juices, coffee machine etc )
    Minifridge in room.
    Comfortable beds.
    Late checkin allowed.
Helpful staff. Allowed us to keep our luggage after checking out.
Excellent value for money, we will definitely come back

What could be improved: A few bathroom floor tiles were broken.

  • Nice cost benefit really close to the train terminal – Gabriel from Brazil – 30 May 2025 (9/10)

Nice place to stay close to Roma Termini train station. Compared to other hotels it was a good cost-benefit option (considering Rome is an expensive city), room is cozy, breakfast is ok.

What could be improved: Cleanliness is not spot on but it wasn't really an issue for me.

  • Good – Solomon from Georgia – 13 May 2025 (7/10)

    not bad

What could be improved: An economy class room with a low-quality mattress is more expensive than a relatively large double room.

  • Overall a perfect place to stay when in Rome. – Michael from Ireland – 24 March 2025 (9/10)

Excellent location, nice room, staff friendly & helpful, good value.

What could be improved: Bed mattress was too firm. Window wouldn’t close properly so there was a bit of noise from the street.

  • Good Option – Oswaldo from Cyprus – 19 February 2025 (9/10)

Very close to train station. Good classic option.

What could be improved: all fine

  • GOOD OPTION CLOSE TO TERMINI – Oswaldo from Cyprus – 19 February 2025 (9/10)

Classic Italian Hotel, very close to Train station and center.

What could be improved: all ok

  • All staff very helpful and give you perfect information as you need to know. And the sweetness is they will give you ext – Ni from Indonesia – 21 January 2025 (9/10)

Staff very kindly and best location

What could be improved: Maybe need to changes the bed sheet while stay for 5 days

  • Very convenient – as described – Rosalyn from United Kingdom – 19 October 2024 (8/10)

Location to station and price bracket

What could be improved: No fruit at breakfast
