Hotel Description
You know what? Hotel Orazia actually surprised me. I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Via Buonarroti 51, I was expecting another generic business hotel near Termini Station. The street itself isn’t much to look at, sort of wedged between the main drag and those residential blocks that Romans actually live in. But stepping inside, there’s this quiet efficiency that just works.
The thing about staying near Central Station is usually the noise, right? But Orazia sits just far enough back from the chaos – maybe a seven-minute walk to the main entrance – that you get the convenience without the 5 AM train announcements. I mean, you’ll still hear the occasional scooter (this is Rome, after all), but it’s not that relentless urban buzz that keeps you up. The rooms are honestly pretty solid for a three-star place. Nothing fancy, but the beds are comfortable and the AC actually works, which – trust me – matters more than you think in July. The bathrooms are small but functional, with decent water pressure that doesn’t fluctuate when someone else is showering down the hall.
What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to get that most guests are either just arriving or about to catch a train. Check-in was smooth even when I showed up at 2 PM with my luggage, and they stored my bags without any fuss when I had to leave early for a flight. There’s this little breakfast area that’s nothing special to look at, but the coffee is proper Italian strong, and they had fresh cornetti that weren’t stale tourist versions. The neighborhood itself grows on you – there’s a fantastic alimentari about two blocks down where locals actually shop, and this tiny trattoria on the corner of Via Gioberti that doesn’t even have a proper sign but serves incredible cacio e pepe. You won’t find either place in guidebooks, but the hotel staff pointed me toward both without me even asking.
Look, I’m not going to pretend this is luxury accommodation or some charming boutique experience. It’s a practical choice that happens to be run by people who care about doing the basics well. The 7.9 rating makes sense – it’s not perfect, but it delivers on what it promises. If you’re looking for Instagram-worthy interiors or a rooftop bar, keep looking. But if you want a clean, quiet place to sleep that won’t eat your budget and puts you within walking distance of basically everything in central Rome? Yeah, Orazia works. I’d definitely book it again, especially for those trips where you’re spending most of your time exploring the city anyway.

Reviews
Superb – Julia from Brazil – 9 June 2025 (9/10)
The room was very confortable, very clean, and the bathroom was perfect. It had a good view from our Windows.
What could be improved: The elevator actually works, and we didnt know. The reception is in the 5 floor, so it really needed to use the elevator.
My only real complaint is about the localization at night, is a bit scary but not really dangerous. We really liked the hotel and the atmosphere. – Anna-riina from Finland – 8 June 2025 (9/10)
We especially liked the hotel's location, hotel was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Service was very great, we were in Rome for only one night and got good advice on where to visit in a short time. Vladimir especially was very helpful and kind.

What could be improved: -Toilet could have been cleaner
-Elevator is very cute but old (some people would forget to close it properly and that would make it not usable which was incredibly annoying) and only suitable for 2 peopleNear station, god breakfast and nice personal – Karin from Sweden – 16 April 2025 (8/10)
Perfect near the trainstation. Very god breakfast and helpful stuff. Special thanks to Vlademir for good service and guiding.
