Hotel Description
You know what? Hotel Navona is one of those places that gets everything right without trying too hard. I mean, it’s tucked away on Via dei Sediari – this tiny street that most tourists walk right past even though they’re literally steps from the Pantheon. The first time I stayed here, I actually walked past the entrance twice because it’s so understated, but that’s part of what makes it special.
The thing about this area is that you’re basically in the heart of everything, but once you duck into the hotel, it’s surprisingly quiet. Well, mostly quiet – you’ll still hear the occasional Vespa at night, but honestly, that’s just Rome being Rome. The building itself has this old-world charm that feels authentic rather than manufactured, if that makes sense. The lobby’s small but welcoming, and the staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which is refreshing in a city where so many hotels feel like conveyor belts.
What really sold me on this place is how it handles the whole “tourist in Rome” thing. Instead of being stuck in some generic hotel district, you’re right where locals actually hang out. There’s this little enoteca around the corner on Via del Governo Vecchio that serves the best cacio e pepe I’ve had outside of Trastevere, and the hotel folks will point you toward spots like that rather than the usual tourist traps. The rooms are comfortable without being fancy – clean lines, good beds, and bathrooms that actually have decent water pressure (trust me, this matters after a day of walking on cobblestones). Some of the rooms overlook the narrow street, others face an interior courtyard, and while the street-facing ones have more character, the courtyard rooms are definitely quieter if you’re a light sleeper.
The location thing is honestly hard to beat. You can walk to the Pantheon in about two minutes, but you’re also close to Campo de’ Fiori and all those winding streets around Piazza Navona where you’ll find the good gelato spots that don’t have neon signs. Parking is basically impossible around here – I mean, you could try, but you’d spend more time circling than sightseeing – so just take a taxi from the airport or train station. The hotel’s on a ZTL street anyway, so driving really isn’t worth the headache.
I’ve stayed here three times now, and each time I’m reminded why it works so well. It’s not trying to be a luxury resort or a boutique showpiece. It’s just a solid, well-run hotel in an incredible location with people who know what they’re doing. The 8.7 rating makes sense – it’s not perfect, but it nails the important stuff. If you want to feel like you’re staying in Rome rather than just visiting it, this is your spot.

Great – Cary from United States – 1 July 2025 (9/10)
A clean and modern hotel located in a 15th century building on a side street 1 block from the Piazza Navona. Room was large and modern with some conserved old ceiling paintings. This was a wheelchair accessible room. Building has small elevator.
Staff was efficient and pleasant and very helpful.
What could be improved: This is not the hotels issue but you will need an online map application to navigate the streets and alleys of the old city…Very good – Rturner102 from United Kingdom – 1 July 2025 (8/10)
Great location walking distance to everything, great staff at reception very helpful, nice room with air con and great shower.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Navona! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. To our surprise , they upgraded us to a room that was not just one level better but several levels above what we booked. The room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully maintained.
The reception staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. One of the receptionists took the time to recommend places to visit on a map. His tips really helped us make the most of our time in Rome.
The location of the hotel couldn’t be better. It is right in the heart of the city, within walking distance of many major attractions.
We are so grateful for the amazing service and unforgettable experience. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Hotel Navona to anyone visiting Rome!

Would recommend – Stephanie from Australia – 30 April 2025 (10/10)
The location was very central, often a 20 minute walk to the major attractions in Rome. The breakfast menu had enough options to please everyone. The beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms large, and the air-conditioning and heating was efficient.
