Hotel Martis Palace Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Martis Palace on Via San Giuseppe Calasanzio, you immediately get that “I found something special” feeling. This four-star gem sits right in the Navona district, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — couples consistently rate it 9.9, which tells you everything you need to know. The building itself has that classic Roman elegance without being stuffy, and you can sense you’re in the heart of everything that matters in Rome.
The Navona Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in this neighborhood — you’re literally steps from the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, but tucked away on a quieter street that locals actually use. You know how some hotels claim to be “centrally located” but you still need to take the metro everywhere? Not here. I mean, you can walk to Trevi Fountain in about eight minutes, and the Spanish Steps are maybe fifteen minutes on foot. The area has that perfect mix of tourist essentials and authentic Roman life, with little cafes and shops that aren’t just there for the tour groups.
Sleep Quality That Actually Delivers
Let’s talk about something that really matters — the beds. This place has earned serious recognition for comfort, and after staying here, I get why. The room I had was well-appointed without being overly fancy, but that mattress was genuinely excellent. You know how hotel beds can be hit or miss? These are definitely hits. The rooms strike that sweet spot between classic Roman style and modern functionality, and the soundproofing is solid enough that you won’t hear every scooter buzzing by (which, in Rome, is saying something).
Morning Fuel
The breakfast setup here actually impressed me — they’ve got this extensive spread that covers pretty much every dietary need you can think of. Continental classics, proper Italian options, vegetarian choices, gluten-free items, even American-style dishes and a breakfast-to-go option if you’re rushing off to beat the crowds at the Vatican. It’s served buffet-style, which I prefer because you can take your time and try different things. The quality is consistently good, not just the usual hotel breakfast afterthought.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.0 overall rating, this place clearly does something right, and I think it comes down to getting the fundamentals perfect. The location score of 9.9 isn’t just marketing fluff — you really are positioned ideally for exploring Rome on foot. Plus, they offer private parking, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Roman traffic will appreciate (though honestly, you won’t need a car from this spot). The staff seems to understand that travelers want genuine recommendations, not just the obvious tourist traps, and the whole experience feels more personal than corporate.
Hotels in Rome line cobbled piazzas, ancient forums, and renaissance palazzi.

Fantastic room in an amazing hotel right in the centre of Rome’s tourist attractions. The quality of the fixtures and fittings were outstanding. Extremely comfortable super king bed with quality linen, huge bathroom and high ceilings! Every member of staff was beyond helpful and friendly. We were very lucky to be upgraded as a birthday gift. We cannot wait to return!

This wonderful hotel greatly exceeded our expectations. The staffs were friendly, attentive, and professional. Several went out of their way to make our experiences special. Aya checked us in and was able to upgrade our room to a spacious suite for a very special mother-daughter trip. She also made excellent restaurant recommendations and helped with reservations. The breakfast was superb with a great selection cooked to order and fresh juices! During our 3-night stay the weather was not the best with almost continuous rain. Gaber went out of his way to open up the roof-top terrace (closed due to weather) on our last night just so I can catch a view of the city from the top floor. The hotel was at the perfect location, close to everything we wanted to visit. This is hands down my choice for a stay in this incredible city.

The location is excellent, right beside Piazza Navona, within easy walking distance to The Pantheon, Trevi fountain and all the main attractions. All large rooms, great breakfast and very clean. The staff were excellent, very attentive and friendly, going out of their way to look after all our family – kids, grandparents and parents. Attached picture from rooftop terrace showing The Pantheon nearby.
