The room I stayed in was more like a proper apartment than a hotel suite. Mornings here have this lovely rhythm to them. I’d grab coffee from the little bar downstairs (the barista, Marco, makes a perfect cappuccino and will chat about football if you’re into that), then wander over to watch the sunrise hit St. Peter’s dome. The neighborhood wakes up slowly — you’ll hear the shopkeepers opening up, maybe some church bells in the distance. Evenings are just as nice, actually — there’s this great little restaurant called Da Enzo that’s maybe a five-minute walk away, where locals go for dinner and the wine list is surprisingly good.

What really makes this place work is that balance between being close to everything touristy but feeling authentically Roman. Couples especially seem to love it here — I can see why, since there’s something romantic about having the Vatican as your backyard but still being able to duck into a neighborhood trattoria where no one speaks English.
