Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places around Rome, but GLAM 50 honestly caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. When you’re walking up Via Muzio Clementi (which, by the way, is this quiet residential street that most tourists never discover), you’d never expect to find something this sleek tucked away in Prati. The building itself looks pretty standard from the outside, but once you’re in that elevator heading up… well, let’s just say the anticipation builds.

The penthouse setup is actually spectacular – floor-to-ceiling windows that frame St. Peter’s dome in a way that makes you stop mid-conversation. I spent probably twenty minutes just staring out there my first morning, coffee in hand, watching the early light hit the Vatican. The space feels genuinely luxurious without being stuffy, you know? Modern furniture that’s actually comfortable (not just Instagram-worthy), and the kitchen – honestly, it’s better equipped than most apartments I’ve lived in. You’re maybe a seven-minute walk from the Vatican Museums, which sounds convenient but here’s what nobody tells you: you can actually avoid those insane morning crowds by slipping out early and grabbing cornetti from the little bakery on Via Barletta before the tour groups wake up.

What really sold me on this place though is how it sits in the neighborhood. Prati gets overlooked by a lot of visitors who think they need to be right in Centro Storico, but that’s actually a mistake. You’ve got Ottaviano metro literally around the corner, Via Cola di Rienzo for shopping (proper shopping, not just tourist stuff), and some genuinely good restaurants that locals actually go to. Plus – and this matters more than you’d think – it’s quiet at night. No street noise, no drunk tourists stumbling around at 3 AM. The building has good sound insulation, and since you’re up high, you get this peaceful bubble effect while still being in the middle of everything. I mean, I could walk to Castel Sant’Angelo in ten minutes, but I could also grab groceries at the Carrefour on Via Marcantonio Colonna like a normal person. The check-in was smooth (they met me at the building since there’s no traditional front desk), and parking – well, if you’re driving in Rome you’re braver than me, but there are spots nearby if you need them. Honestly, for the price point and that location, especially with how much space you get, it’s pretty hard to beat.
