Gio Luxury Home Overview

You know what struck me first about Gio Luxury Home? It’s tucked away on Via in Arcione in this gorgeous old building where you actually feel like you’re living in Rome, not just visiting it. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the Trevi Fountain – and I’m talking about the back streets route that locals use, not the tourist-packed main drag. The address might look complicated with all those scala and piano numbers, but honestly, that’s just how Roman buildings work, and once you figure out you’re looking for entrance E, third floor, it’s pretty straightforward.

The place itself feels more like staying in a well-traveled friend’s apartment than a typical hotel. The owner clearly knows what travelers actually need – there’s proper lighting for reading (thank god), outlets where you expect them to be, and the kind of shower pressure that makes you want to stay in there forever. What really got me though was stepping out onto Via in Arcione in the morning. You’ve got this perfect mix of neighborhood life happening – locals grabbing their morning coffee, delivery guys on scooters weaving through the narrow streets, but without the chaos you get closer to the main tourist zones. The building itself has that worn-in Roman elegance, you know? Stone steps that have been walked on for centuries, thick walls that actually keep street noise down (which is saying something in Rome), and these shutters that make the whole experience feel authentically Italian.

Here’s the thing about the location that booking sites don’t really capture – you’re in Trevi, but you’re on the residential side of it. Walk five minutes one way and you’re at the fountain taking your obligatory photos, walk five minutes the other way and you’re hitting Via del Corso for shopping, but where you’re actually staying feels like real Rome. I loved being able to duck into the little alimentari on the corner for morning pastries, or discovering that tiny wine bar just around the corner that doesn’t even have a proper sign. The 9.6 rating makes total sense when you realize it’s not trying to be everything to everyone – it’s just really, really good at being a comfortable, authentic Roman stay. Plus, and this matters more than you’d think, the check-in was smooth and the host actually gave useful neighborhood recommendations, not just the obvious tourist stuff. It’s the kind of place where you find yourself planning your next Rome trip before you’ve even left.

  Location is great, very central and close to the Trevi fountain. It can get a little noisy at night when trying to sleep, but that’s just part of the deal for being in such a prime spot. The host, Anna, was super lovely, very nice and easy to contact. She answered all the questions we had and was very helpful throughout our entire stay. The apartment was great and spacious enough for the five of us. Overall really enjoyed our stay and would stay again!

  This was an excellent property. It was like an oasis of peace from the business of Rome. The location was fantastic and the apartment was very comfortable.. a good size and had everything we needed and more. The host Anna, was an absolute delight and made our stay personalised by greeting us and giving us a lots of recommendations for places to eat as well. It was perfect for our family.
