Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Gilda Apartment? The moment I stepped out of that tiny elevator on the third floor, I actually felt like I was walking into someone’s stylish Roman home rather than another sterile hotel room. The whole place has this fresh, contemporary vibe that somehow doesn’t feel cold or impersonal – honestly, it’s like they nailed that sweet spot between modern comfort and actual warmth.
The location is pretty brilliant, actually. I mean, Via Villafranca isn’t one of those streets tourists typically know by name, but it’s literally a three-minute walk from Termini Station (I timed it), which sounds touristy but is actually perfect. You’re close enough to hop on any train or metro line without dragging your luggage through half the city, but far enough from the main station chaos that you’re not hearing announcements at 6 AM. The neighborhood has that authentic Roman residential feel – there’s this little café downstairs where the owner, I swear, makes the best cornetto in the area, and you’ll see actual locals getting their morning coffee there, not just travelers. Plus, you’re walking distance to Santa Maria Maggiore if you want to see something spectacular without the Colosseum crowds.
What really impressed me was how thoughtfully designed everything is. The apartment feels genuinely elegant – not that fake luxury you get in chain hotels, but like someone actually cared about the details. The kitchen is compact but functional (perfect for making morning coffee or storing those amazing Roman market finds), and the whole space gets this gorgeous natural light that makes you want to linger over breakfast. I was there during a pretty busy time in Rome, and honestly, the soundproofing was impressive – you hear some street life, which I actually like because it feels authentic, but nothing disruptive. The 9.2 rating makes total sense when you experience it yourself; it’s that rare combination of style, comfort, and genuine hospitality that’s hard to find, especially in Rome where so many places trade on location alone. The only tiny thing I’d mention is that the elevator is proper Italian-sized (meaning small), but that’s part of the charm, and besides, third floor isn’t exactly a climb. If you’re looking for something that feels both sophisticated and genuinely Roman – not just a place to sleep between tourist sites – this is exactly what you want.

Superb – Daniel from United States – 8 June 2025 (9/10)
Clean, comfortable, great location (close to Metro and market)
What could be improved: A small issue was that wi-fi reception in the bedroom down the hall was not strong, guessing due to distance from router.Superb – Poo from Malaysia – 7 June 2025 (9/10)
Close to Roma termini, we were a family of 8 and were happy to get this big apartment, a wonderful 8d7n in Rome.
Excellent location. New renovation. – Ken from Australia – 26 April 2025 (10/10)
Great location close to station. Felt safe walking at night. A lot of families around the area. A grocery store 1 minute away (PAM) which was super convenient. Great restaurants minutes away. Was very easy to get to main sites by the 423 bus. Washing machine was good with drying rack. Temperature was great. Host communication was great and responsive to all our needs.
What could be improved: Minor – Range hood exhaust fan didn’t work. Paper towels in kitchen would be a great addition. More kitchen towels required. More cooking utensils like a spatula.Exceptional – Krassimir from Bulgaria – 5 February 2025 (10/10)
Cozy apartment in good location
What could be improved: Needs small repairs here and there.Wonderful stay – Shingo from Japan – 2 January 2025 (10/10)

Everything…from the well responsive and supportive host, the entire apartment and the location
What could be improved: NoneIt's a good and big enough place for large group/famly to stay for few days. – Shambhulal from United States – 28 July 2024 (9/10)
Owner allowed us early checkin, check-in and check-out was very simple, rooms and other facilities were clean. There are grocery store, restaurant with-in 1-2 mins walk from this location. Location of this apartment is 5 mins walk from Roma Termini and located in relatively safer neghibourhood. We saw permanent police details few meters from this apartment, and looks like there are some embassy near by.
What could be improved: Washer/dryer was in storage area which was not reachable. Kitchen range/hood seems to be not working which isn't a big deal.Amazing…Awesome. – Ezra from Australia – 18 June 2024 (10/10)
Amazing property, very clean spacious and centrally located. The host was very friendly and communicated very well, also responsive and was willing to accommodate an early check in. All rooms had an aircon. It was the best pace we stayed in during our European trip. Would highly recommend
What could be improved: NilExceptional – Szekely from Romania – 7 May 2024 (10/10)
The apartment was perfect for two families.
What could be improved: –Superb – Lori from United States – 20 March 2025 (9/10)
The property was large enough for my family to stay together. It was close to the train station. Clean. Staff was very accommodating for us to leave our bags early on arrival and later on Departure. This was extremely helpful. It had an elevator to assist with baggage as well as my elderly mother. It also had a washer which was amazing for the middle of our Italy adventures. The restaurant 3 Archie’s next door was also very good and accommodating and friendly. The staff was also prompt in responses to questions
What could be improved: No living room but was not a deal breaker
