You know what? I walked past Ghetto BuddyRent about three times before I realized this was actually my hotel – the name had me completely confused, honestly. Don’t let that throw you off though, because once you step inside this place on Largo Arenula, it’s nothing like what you’d expect from the quirky name. The lobby’s got this clean, modern vibe that immediately makes you forget you’re staying somewhere called “Ghetto” anything. I mean, the location alone should tell you this isn’t some sketchy spot – you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Pantheon, which I learned the hard way when I kept hearing crowds of tourists every morning around 9 AM (not unpleasant, just… lively).

What really sold me on this place was how the staff actually seemed to know Rome beyond just the major tourist traps. The guy at reception – think his name was Marco – didn’t just point me toward the Pantheon like every other hotel would. Instead, he told me about this little wine bar called Il Sorpasso just around the corner on Via Properzio, and honestly, that became my go-to spot for dinner. The rooms themselves are pretty solid for a 4-star – nothing fancy, but the AC works (crucial in Roman summers), and the shower pressure is surprisingly good. I stayed in one of the upper floors and could actually see a sliver of the Pantheon’s dome if I craned my neck out the window, which felt like a little secret bonus. The Wi-Fi was reliable enough for video calls, though it did slow down around 8 PM when I assume everyone was trying to upload their day’s photos.

Here’s the thing about staying right in the Pantheon area – yes, you’ll pay a bit more, but you’ll save so much time and metro money. I could stumble back from dinner at Campo de’ Fiori in about ten minutes, and getting to Villa Borghese or even the Vatican was just a pleasant walk along the Tiber. The neighborhood gets surprisingly quiet after 10 PM too, which I wasn’t expecting given how touristy it is during the day. One small heads up though – if you’re driving, forget about parking anywhere nearby. There’s a garage about three blocks away, but honestly, you don’t need a car staying here anyway. The whole experience felt like I was staying somewhere that locals might actually recommend rather than just another tourist hotel, and with an 8.8 rating, I’m clearly not the only one who felt that way about the place.

  Apartamento com muito espaço, três banheiros excelentes.
  Tudo novo, inclusive o ar condicionado.
  A localização é formidável. Esta perto de tudo.
  O quarto da frente e a cozinha tem janelas duplas para barrar o barulho da rua, então dormimos bem.
  Tem um restaurante na frente super joia e um Carrefour a dois quarteirões.
  Local seguro.

  Mas fomos no verão de julho, então entendemos.

  las habitaciones grandes, la ubicación espectacular, la atención del anfitrión.
  cuando bajas a la calle, si giras la esquina de la derecha encontrarás unas pizzas increíbles y baratas, y el dueño es muy simpático
  
  What could be improved: el calentador no funcionaba muy bien, creo que se debía a que habíamos 2 personas duchándose al mismo tiempo, de todas formas podrían solucionarlo

  דירה נהדרת מיקום מצוין ממש על כיכר ארגנטינה. 2 דק. הליכה מהגטו היהודי עם זמינות גדולה של מסעדות כשרות מאפיה כשרה ובית כנסת. הדירה מותאמת מאד לשומרי שבת. יש מפתח שבת לדלת, פלטה ומיחם. תיאו הבעלים מדבר עיברית ומאד קשוב לבקשות.אין מעלית אבל הדירה בקומה ראשונה עם כ 12 מדרגות. הדירה באיזור בטוח ונמצאת 5 דק. מכיכר ונציה. 2 חדרי שינה עם שירותים ומקלחת ומיטות זוגיות נוחות. חדר נוסף כאשר מחוץ לחדר הזה יש שירותים ומקלחת אבל עם ספה נפתחת, פחות נוחה לזוג. סהכ היה מצוין. נקי מאד ומיקום מעולה.
