Feriae Latinae Overview
You know what? I’ve walked past Feriae Latinae probably a dozen times before actually staying there, and honestly, I was kicking myself for not booking it sooner. It sits on this quiet stretch of Via Innocenzo XI in Aurelio – and I mean actually quiet, not Rome-quiet where you still hear Vespas at 2 AM. The neighborhood feels like where Romans actually live, with that little alimentari on the corner where the owner remembers your usual order and kids playing football in the courtyard across the street. When you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone really thought about the details. The lobby has this warm, lived-in elegance – think more sophisticated Roman apartment than flashy hotel chain. The marble floors are original (you can tell by the way they’ve worn smooth in just the right spots), and the lighting actually makes you look good, which is rarer than you’d think.
The rooms are where this place really shines, though. I mean, a 9.7 rating sounds almost too good to be true, but after spending three nights here, I get it. The beds are proper firm – none of that sinking-into-quicksand nonsense – and the linens feel expensive without being fussy. My room faced the internal courtyard, which meant I could sleep with the windows open and actually hear birds in the morning instead of traffic. The bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually works (the water pressure in Rome can be… well, let’s just say it varies), and they stock real toiletries, not those tiny mystery bottles. What really got me was the air conditioning – it’s whisper-quiet and actually cools the room, which anyone who’s suffered through a Roman summer will appreciate. The staff operates like they’re running a small family business rather than checking boxes for corporate. When I mentioned I was heading to Trastevere for dinner, the guy at the front desk drew me a little map showing the best route to avoid the tourist crowds and pointed out where to catch the tram back.
Here’s the thing about staying in Aurelio – you’re close enough to everything that matters (fifteen minutes to the Vatican, twenty to the center by metro), but far enough out that you feel like you’re experiencing actual Roman life. There’s a fantastic trattoria called Da Enzo literally two blocks away where I never heard a word of English spoken, and the morning market on Via Baldo degli Ubaldi is perfect for grabbing fresh fruit and that incredible Roman bread. Parking is actually manageable in this area too, if you’re brave enough to drive in Rome. The hotel doesn’t have its own garage, but there’s street parking that doesn’t require a engineering degree to figure out. Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of four-star places that felt like they were just going through the motions, but Feriae Latinae feels like someone actually cares about whether you have a good time. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to plan another trip to Rome just so you can stay there again.

Very nice apartment, spacious and clean. You get clear instructions from the owner on how to get into the apartment and it's easy to do. It's in a quiet area and you can reach the metro station in ~15 minutes on foot.

Ci torneremo di sicuro!!!Dorota from Poland (10/10)
