You know what struck me first about Domus Ferruccio? It’s one of those places that actually feels like a real Roman building – not some corporate chain that could be anywhere. The entrance on Via Ferruccio is pretty understated, honestly, but once you’re inside there’s this lovely sense of old-world charm mixed with modern comfort that Romans do so well.

The location is absolutely perfect if you’re doing the tourist thing but want to feel like you’re staying where actual people live. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Termini Station, which sounds potentially awful but it’s actually brilliant – I mean, you can dump your bags and be at the Colosseum in fifteen minutes, or catch a train to Florence without breaking a sweat. The neighborhood has this authentic Roman energy, especially in the evenings when locals are heading home from work. There’s a fantastic little osteria just around the corner on Via Giolitti (the owners probably don’t speak English but the carbonara is incredible), and you’re close enough to the Monti district that you can wander over for aperitivo without taking the metro. I was worried about noise being so close to the station, but honestly? The rooms are well-insulated, and Rome’s not exactly a quiet city anywhere, so you might as well embrace it.

What really won me over was the attention to detail – not in a fussy way, but in that Italian way where things just work properly. The staff actually knows the city and will give you real recommendations, not just tourist traps. The rooms feel spacious by Roman standards (which, let’s be honest, isn’t saying much, but still), and the beds are genuinely comfortable. The breakfast is solid – proper espresso, fresh cornetti, and they don’t try to do some weird international buffet thing. I mean, you’re in Rome, why would you want cereal and pancakes? The Wi-Fi actually works, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed in the city center. My only minor gripe is that the elevator is tiny – very Roman – so if you’re traveling with huge suitcases, you might be making multiple trips. But honestly, that’s part of the charm. This place gets what it is: a proper Roman hotel that happens to be perfectly positioned for exploring the city, not a tourist bubble trying to recreate some fantasy version of Italy.

  Great communication and really helpful recommendations to make my stay memorable. Small sized room, good for one person or short stays. The kitchen is so great, having access to the coffee machine, a washing machine and cooking was perfect. A little bit out from the main areas, however well supported by the metro and trams, as well as access to hire electric bikes and scooters on the street if you want a break from walking sometimes.. For those that enjoy exploring on foot, this is a perfect spot. Thank you for having me.

  Great location, near shops, restaurants and yet quiet neighborhood with metro station very close and tourist attractions about 40min walk away. Everything you might need from an apartment/room for a trip is provided.

  What could be improved: Quite a lot inspirational quotes on the walls. Wouldn't mind them as much if they were clued on in the intended order, some of those quotes make no sense at all 😀
