Diasof Apartments Overview
First Impressions
When I first walked into Diasof Apartments, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a typical Roman building from the outside. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that surprise you. This four-star property sits quietly on Via del Lago Terrione, and there’s something refreshingly understated about it — no flashy lobby or over-the-top decorations, just clean lines and that effortless Italian style that somehow makes everything look more sophisticated than it probably should.
The Prati Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in Prati — you’re close enough to Vatican City that you can actually walk there (and I mean really walk, not that tourist-brochure “walking distance” nonsense), but you’re also in a neighborhood where actual Romans live and work. The location score of 9.2 isn’t just marketing fluff; couples genuinely rate this area highly because it feels authentic without being touristy. You’ve got proper grocery stores, neighborhood cafés where the barista remembers your order, and tree-lined streets that make Rome feel almost… manageable, if that makes sense.
The Apartment Experience
The room I stayed in felt more like borrowing a friend’s well-designed apartment than checking into a hotel. There’s a proper kitchenette — not one of those sad mini-fridges with a hot plate, but actual counter space and appliances you’d want to use. I mean, you’re in Rome, so you’ll probably eat out most of the time anyway, but it’s nice knowing you can make proper coffee in the morning or store those amazing pastries you bought too many of (we’ve all been there). The whole setup just feels more grown-up than your typical hotel room.
Getting Around
What really sold me on this place was how easy everything became once I figured out the neighborhood rhythm. The metro connections are solid — you can get to the Spanish Steps or Colosseum without that exhausting trek through crowded tourist areas. And honestly, parking in Rome is usually a nightmare, but this area is actually manageable if you’re brave enough to drive here. Most evenings, I’d just wander down to the Tiber and walk along the river, which beats fighting crowds at the Trevi Fountain any day of the week.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something to be said for a place that doesn’t try too hard but gets all the important stuff right. The building is quiet — you know how thin walls can be in older Roman buildings — but here you actually get a decent night’s sleep. The staff knows the neighborhood well enough to give you real recommendations, not just the obvious tourist spots. And that 9.1 rating from couples? It makes sense when you realize this is the kind of place where you can have a proper conversation over breakfast without competing with tour groups planning their day at maximum volume.
Locals suggest to book apartments in Rome around Monti for artisan workshops, vintage boutiques, and late-night wine bars.

The apartment was neat and spacious and just a minute from a train station.
Jenna from South Africa (10/10)
Petro went out of his way for us – even offering us storage space while we completed our time in Italy, which he didn’t need to do. Apartment is a short trip away from the city centre, close to the train station. Very happy with our stay.

I highly recommend this apartment, it was by far the best place I've stayed in Europe.
The location is perfect: just a 15-minute walk to the Vatican and only 4 minutes from the train station. The apartment is spotless, brand new, and fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. If you don’t feel like cooking, I highly recommend the restaurant "Buona Forchetta," which is just 9 minutes away. The host was incredibly attentive, and the instructions for accessing the apartment were very clear. When we arrived, the sofa bed was already set up, so we could relax right away.
If you have the chance to rent this apartment, don’t hesitate, you won’t regret it!Ghena from United Kingdom (10/10)
Very easy to locate the key box since the host sent photos on what’s app, and we were able to enter at our own pace as the keys were in a key box.
Walston from Italy (10/10)
From the welcome and through the whole stay, we felt our host was by our side for anything we needed! We travelled with our kids and their uncle, and everyone was ecstatic about the place. With the amenities offered in house (full kitchen, fast WiFi, and two awesome terraces), we felt we were living like royalty. We would definitely recommend this place again!!
Jardine from Luxembourg (8/10)
Location was good for us. It was 10 minutes to Saint Peter's. It was close to the train station, easy check in, clean, comfortable, the induction stove top was great, the good host who was pleasant to deal with.
