Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Daphne Suites? It’s this unassuming little place tucked on Via degli Avignonesi that honestly feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s apartment than a typical hotel. I mean, it’s officially a 3-star property, but there’s something about the way they’ve set things up that makes it feel more personal than that rating suggests.
The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know Rome at all. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the Trevi Fountain – and I’m talking about the real two minutes, not the tourist-brochure version where they stretch the truth. But here’s the thing that locals will appreciate: you’re far enough up Via degli Avignonesi that you escape most of the fountain crowds, especially in the evenings when the tour groups thin out. The street itself has this quiet, residential feel with those typical Roman buildings that have seen a few centuries come and go. There’s a little alimentari right around the corner where the owner actually remembers your face after a couple of days, and honestly, that’s worth more than fancy amenities sometimes.
The suites themselves are… well, they’re solid. Nothing that’ll blow your mind, but everything works the way it should. The rooms have this lived-in comfort – good beds, decent space to spread out your stuff, and the kind of practical touches that make you think someone who actually travels designed them. The bathrooms are properly sized (you’d be surprised how rare that is in Rome), and the air conditioning works well enough for those brutal August afternoons. I will say the building’s old, so you’ll hear some street noise – but it’s the good kind of Roman street noise, you know? Vespas putting around, people chatting on their way to dinner, not traffic chaos. The Wi-Fi is reliable, which matters if you’re trying to plan your days or upload photos that actually make your friends jealous.
What really gets me about this place is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re walking distance from Piazza Barberini, which puts you on the metro line if you want to venture further out, but honestly, some of Rome’s best stuff is right here. The Quirinale is practically next door, and there’s this little wine bar about three blocks away – I won’t name it because it’s already crowded enough – where Romans actually go for aperitivo. The staff at Daphne seems to get this too; they’re not pushing tourist traps on you, just giving you the kind of directions that help you move through the city like you belong there. It’s not luxury, but it’s Rome the way it should be experienced – comfortably, authentically, without all the fuss that usually comes with staying dead center in a historic city.

Great Communication and Location – Stefano from Canada – 29 June 2025 (9/10)
The location is excellent and close to not only some big attractions but also the bus and subway lines which makes it exceptional for getting around.
The host was exceptional as well. We had some complications with the booking and they were very accommodating and in constant communication with us in order to resolve the situation and provided a positive outcome for me and my family.
What could be improved: The price is a bit much, however that is not exclusive to this place alone. Rome is a massive tourist hub and you're paying for its location above all.Very good – Martin from Armenia – 25 June 2025 (8/10)
It was very close to Trevi, like 5 minutes walk. It’s basically in the touristic centre and it is very crowded especially in this season, but it was worth it as we wanted to be close to the centre. There is a great restaurant just around the corner – da Olympia that serves very tasty local dishes in a cozy family-like environment. The room was clean and we got room service just once, but we were mostly outside, so it was Ok.
We arrived late and night and had to go through the self check-in process which was quite easy as the instructions were provided in a very detailed way.
What could be improved: It is very-very noisy in the corridor and there is no soundproofing. When somebody breathes a bit loudly you can clearly hear it from the room. It was very difficult to rest during the day especially from 10-3pm when the rooms are being serviced as the doors open and close so loudly that you basically fall off the bed )). This being said, the location is really nice and if you’re staying for a short period of time, it’s a nice choice.Great guest house, clean & comfortable. Well located for all tourist spots / transport – Lisa from United Kingdom – 11 May 2025 (9/10)
Great location

Comfort, clean, location
Very good – Theodora from Greece – 13 March 2025 (8/10)
It was spacious and clean, excellent location, very helpful for anything we needed and nice breakfast
What could be improved: I couldn’t control the temperature of the water in the shower and the bed was a little bit short for tall people, the bathroom door needed fixing but everything else was fine!!Perfect accommodation to stay in Rome – Masuyo from United Kingdom – 1 March 2025 (9/10)
The room was very clean and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable and the towels and bedding were changed every day if necessary. The location was close to all attractions in Rome.
What could be improved: The worker of rubbish collectors worked early in the morning and sometimes it was noisy to sleep in.Superb – Ana from Croatia – 1 March 2025 (9/10)
Perfect location. Very comfortable beds.
What could be improved: Everything is perfect except breakfast. It is not worth the extra charge. It was great – Matewe from Netherlands – 27 February 2025 (9/10)
I liked the location which was close to both the colosseum and the Vatican. A lot of shops and restaurants nearby. I also loved how clean our room was.
What could be improved: The entrance of the building and the stairs can use some renovation.Superb – Stephanie from Brazil – 7 February 2025 (9/10)
Very comfortable and clean apartment, with a lot of space. Location was great.
What could be improved: The breakfast is at a cafe, which was actually closed when we went there (although we went at the right time)Cozy Apartment at the hearth of the city – Murat from Turkey – 7 November 2024 (8/10)
Location is perfect. Most attraction is on walking distance.
Deluxe room is very big and comfy,
Apartment is clean,
The lady at reception is very helpful.
What could be improved: -Check in/check out procedure.
