Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be straight with you about the Da Vinci – it’s one of those hotels that actually gets the Rome experience right without trying too hard. The moment you walk in from Via Carlo Alberto, you’re hit with this understated elegance that feels authentically Italian, not like some tourist trap trying to recreate it.

The location is honestly perfect if you know Rome at all. You’re practically on top of Termini Station, which sounds awful until you realize what that actually means – you can catch the Leonardo Express to Fiumicino without dragging your luggage across half the city, and you’ve got the entire metro system at your fingertips. But here’s the thing most people don’t mention: Carlo Alberto is actually one of the quieter streets in that area. I mean, you’re still in central Rome so it’s not silent, but you won’t have drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 3 AM like you would closer to the Colosseum. The neighborhood has this great mix of actual Romans going about their business and that energy you want when you’re visiting – plenty of authentic trattorias within a five-minute walk, and the morning markets near Piazza Vittorio are absolutely worth the early wake-up call.

What really impressed me about the Da Vinci is how they’ve managed to maintain that boutique hotel feel while still being professional enough to earn their four stars. The rooms have character – I’m talking actual Italian design, not generic hotel furniture that could be anywhere. The staff genuinely seems to care about what you’re doing in the city, and they’ll give you directions to places that aren’t in your guidebook. Check-in was smooth even when I arrived early (always a good sign), and honestly, the whole place just feels like someone who understands hospitality is running it. The 8.6 rating makes sense when you stay there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Rome, but everything works the way it should, and you get those little touches that show someone’s paying attention. You know what I mean? Like, the coffee in the morning is actually good coffee, not hotel coffee. And if you’re planning to explore on foot, which you should be doing in Rome anyway, you’re about a 15-minute walk from the Pantheon and maybe 20 from the Trevi Fountain – close enough to pop back for an afternoon rest without feeling like you’re stuck in the suburbs.

The hospitality was very good. Anna provided us with anything we needed from fruits to umbrellas. The Airbnb is right next to the vittoro Emanuelle metro station so the location was also great. The room was also amazing and got cleaned every day. 9/10 would definitely recommend.

I loved the clean, modern finish of the apartment. It was convenient to the Termini train station, and the staff was super friendly and made us a nice breakfast.

What could be improved: The area has graffiti and was a little run down, so I was surprised they could charge so much for a BNB in a rough-looking area.
