Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Coronari Palace? The name made me expect some grand, intimidating palazzo, but honestly, it’s much more charming than that. Tucked away on Via Dei Tre Archi – which is basically this narrow cobblestone street that feels like a secret passage between the chaos of central Rome – this little 3-star gem actually gets it right where a lot of fancier places miss the mark.

The location is pretty brilliant, I have to say. You’re literally a 3-minute walk from Piazza Navona, but here’s the thing most people don’t realize – you’re on the quiet side of all that tourist madness. I mean, you can duck out your door and be at Bernini’s fountains in no time, but when you come back at night, you’re not dealing with the street performers and crowds that hang around the main piazza until all hours. The Via dei Tre Archi is one of those streets where you’ll see actual Romans heading to work in the morning, not just tour groups with matching backpacks. There’s a small alimentari right around the corner where the owner actually remembers your face after a couple days – that sort of neighborhood feel that’s getting harder to find in this part of Rome.

The hotel itself has this lived-in elegance that works really well. The rooms aren’t huge (well, it’s Rome – what did you expect?), but they’re thoughtfully put together with these nice touches like decent lighting for actually reading at night and – thank god – proper water pressure in the showers. The staff seems to genuinely care about the place, which you can tell because they’ll give you real recommendations, not just point you toward the tourist traps. I asked about a good spot for aperitivo and got directed to this little enoteca on Via dell’Orso that I never would have found otherwise. The breakfast isn’t going to blow your mind, but it’s solid – proper coffee, fresh pastries, and they don’t rush you out the door. Actually, the breakfast room gets this lovely morning light that makes you want to linger over your cappuccino and plan your day. One small thing – the elevator is pretty tiny, so if you’re traveling with massive suitcases, just mentally prepare for that. But honestly, that’s half the charm of staying in a real Roman building rather than some sterile modern hotel. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s the kind of place that does the important stuff really well without trying to be something it’s not.

  • Coronari Palace provided us best experience to explore Rome. The staff were super attentive and helpful and the property – Kelvin from Australia – 20 November 2024 (9/10)

The property was super close to the attractions, but also providing the quietness of a suburban neighbourhood during the night. The rooms were well lit with natural light and were spacious. Our room in particular had a terrace which was amazing to soak up the sunset with drinks and truly enjoy the sweetness of doing nothing and relaxing.

What could be improved: The air conditioning might need a service as the circulation gave the room a damp smell.

  • Wonderful hidden gem with great central location – Pamela from United States – 11 November 2024 (9/10)

Fantastic place, small and personal. Even better location – we walked everywhere! We loved our 4th floor room (402) with a terrace, it was clean and comfortable, with a lovely private terrace with table and 2 chairs. Desk staff and breakfast staff were lovely and helpful every single time.

What could be improved: The only improvement I could suggest is with the breakfast… I am gluten free (celiac) and there were packaged gf "shar" goods available, as well as bacon and eggs, fruit and yogurt. However, some local gluten free pastries (from a local gf bakery like New Food Gluten Free at Ponte Sisto) would have made the gf breakfast selection amazing and special!

  • Not what we thought we were getting, however everything worked out and we enjoyed Rome. Nice little hotel with friendly – Matt from United States – 25 October 2024 (9/10)

The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was easy to navigate the city from here as well. Our room was spacious and had more room than we needed.

What could be improved: It was difficult for the taxi to find and for us to find the door once we were dropped off. Once there everything was very convenient though. We reserved the room with the “private terrace” it was very nice but absolutely not private. The roof top terrace open to all guest was on top of our room and looked down into our “private” one. Make no mistake if that is the only room available, it is NOT and apartment and they do NOT have a washing machine. Those are two things we were told originally but were in fact not true. Nice place to stay, just make sure you know what you are getting. The pics and questions answered are real but misleading if taken at face value.

  • Good – Martina from Switzerland – 13 October 2024 (7/10)

Location is great! Property itself is cute and small, the roof terrace was nice!

What could be improved: The key system in the night did not work, we had to wait more than 1 hour till someone helped! 2 girls at 1 am, not so nice
On 1 day no hot water! So shower was not possible and the reply was a bit disappointing-‘we cannot change anything now, system is being teset’
So these are certainly not great experiences

  • Location was superb. – Julia from United States – 13 September 2024 (9/10)

Fell in love with the location. Two minutes from taxi stand, quiet, street full of artists, shops, places to eat. Street ends at Tiber with pedestrian bridge. Breakfast good wide variety and a little late so plan. The room, high ceilings and balcony was great. Air conditioner great. Morning staff terrific.

What could be improved: Room a little small but balcony expanded area. Bathroom and closet area painted black, hard to see stuff. Uncomfortable with showers being black including bottom of shower.

  • Value for a family of four – Dinesh from United States – 17 August 2024 (8/10)

    Location and courteous staff

What could be improved: Noise from surroundings

  • Boutique, friendly hotel in brilliant location. – Suzanne from United Kingdom – 7 August 2024 (9/10)

Fabulous location – lots of eating options in the evening, away from the super touristy areas. Yet, all the main sights are in reasonable walking distance. Bedroom was modern, quirky – super comfy bed. Was given the code to access the main door which was very convenient. Staff were very friendly and helpful in answering any queries. Breakfast was good.

What could be improved: Paintwork in the bedroom was a little tired – that's the only thing I can fault this place on!

  • Superb – Dan from Germany – 17 July 2024 (9/10)

    Great value for money
    Location next to piazza navona
