Colosseo Room Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Colosseo Room on Via Labicana, you honestly can’t miss the energy of this place. I mean, you’re literally steps away from the Colosseum — and I’m talking about a two-minute walk, not some tourist brochure exaggeration. This four-star property sits right in the Monti district, which locals will tell you is one of Rome‘s most authentic neighborhoods. The building itself has that classic Roman charm, tucked into a quiet residential street that somehow manages to feel both central and peaceful.
The Heart of Ancient Rome
What struck me most about staying here was how you’re positioned right in the archaeological zone — you know, that area where every corner reveals another piece of ancient history. The Monti neighborhood is actually Rome’s first suburb, dating back to ancient times, and you can feel that history in the cobblestone streets. Couples absolutely love this spot (they rate the location a perfect 10), and honestly, I get why. You can walk to the Roman Forum in five minutes, hit up the trendy bars on Via del Boschetto in the evening, and still escape the tourist crowds when you want some quiet time.
Your Home Base
The room itself feels more like a well-designed urban retreat than typical hotel accommodation. Everything’s been thoughtfully updated while keeping those high ceilings and original architectural details that make Roman buildings so special. The space is compact but smart — you’ve got everything you need without feeling cramped. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being so central; the windows face the internal courtyard, so you’re not dealing with street noise from the main tourist routes.
Living Like a Local
Here’s what you need to know about the area — Monti is where Romans actually hang out. There’s this little restaurant called Flavio al Velavevodetto just around the corner that serves incredible cacio e pepe, and the morning coffee scene along Via Urbana is unbeatable. The property’s location score of 9.9 isn’t just marketing speak; you’re genuinely in the sweet spot where ancient Rome meets contemporary Roman life. I found myself walking everywhere — Termini Station is about ten minutes if you need to catch a train, and the Pantheon is maybe fifteen minutes through some of the city’s most beautiful streets.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Rome can be overwhelming with all the tourist traps and crowded attractions, but staying at Colosseo Room puts you right where you want to be without the chaos. You’re close enough to see the Colosseum lit up at night from the street, but far enough from the tour groups to actually enjoy it. The 9.7 rating makes sense when you experience how this place balances convenience with authenticity — it’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top, just genuinely well-positioned for exploring Rome the way it should be explored. Plus, there’s something pretty magical about falling asleep knowing you’re literally sleeping in the heart of the ancient world.
Locals suggest to book apartments in Rome around Monti for artisan workshops, vintage boutiques, and late-night wine bars.

We were 2 couples and a 1 y.o. baby – each couple had a lot of privacy, as there were 2 separate, locked bedrooms and 2 separate bathrooms. The owner prepared a beautiful sweet welcome gift for us, and arranged a lot of comodities for my little baby! ( baby bed, chair for eating, baby bath, even some baby cosmetics- it was really special and extremely helpful). The owner was always answering my messages very fast, and helped me with booking a taxi to the airport on the last day. Flat is really beautiful, clean and has everything what's needed for a short or longer stay. I strongly recommend it to bigger groups and families 🙂

What a fantastic stay we've had at the Colosseo apartment! Cristina is a lovely host and her flat is exceptional! The location is great: less than 10min away from the Colosseum and 2 blocks away from a metro station. The flat itself is super clean, amazingly decorated and equipped to the best standards. The host Cristina is kind, caring and looked after all the little details and much more to make our stay simply wonderful!

I had a great visit to Rome and staying here was very convenient. I had everything I needed. The apartment was super clean and cute. Communication with Cristina awesome. Cristina was very gracious, met us upon arrival and showed us everything and provided great local recommendations. Loved the apartment and the area. Great for restaurants and cofes and a very genuine Italian feel. I really enjoyed staying in this neighborhood. I still walked to all major attraction like Colosseum. Highly recommended.
