You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Colosseum – I mean, you can practically hear the tour groups gathering in the morning – but you’re far enough up Via Giovanni Pascoli that you don’t get all that street noise. Monti is having this moment right now where it’s cool but not completely overrun yet, and you’ll find yourself wandering down to Via del Boschetto for dinner or drinks without even planning it. The staff actually gave me solid recommendations for places the locals go, not just the tourist traps. Check-in was smooth, no weird credit card holds or anything sketchy, and they seemed genuinely happy to see guests rather than just going through the motions.
