Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be straight with you about chèri luxury suite – it’s one of those places that surprises you in ways you don’t expect. First off, the name might sound fancy, but this is a solid 3-star spot that knows exactly what it is. When I walked up to Via Palestro 78, I was honestly expecting something a bit more… well, let’s just say the neighborhood around Termini isn’t exactly Instagram-worthy. But here’s the thing about this area that most people don’t get – you’re literally a 5-minute walk from the main train station, which means you can dump your bags and be at the Colosseum in under 20 minutes. No tourist bus needed.
The suite itself? Actually pretty charming once you get inside. I mean, it’s not going to blow your mind, but there’s this attention to detail that you don’t usually see at this price point. The bathroom has this rainfall shower that – okay, I know that sounds cliché – but it actually works properly, which is more than I can say for half the places I’ve stayed in Rome. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been hit by a Vespa, and honestly, after walking 15,000 steps around cobblestone streets, that’s all you really need. What I really appreciated was how quiet it got at night. You’d think being so close to Termini would mean constant noise, but Via Palestro is just tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the chaos of the main drags.
Here’s what I wish someone had told me before booking – the elevator is tiny (like, European tiny), so if you’re traveling with massive suitcases, prepare for some creative maneuvering. Also, while the 7.5 rating might seem modest, it’s actually pretty solid for this area. You’re not getting luxury hotel service, but the staff knows their stuff about getting around the city. The guy at check-in gave me this whole rundown about which metro lines to avoid during rush hour and where to grab decent coffee that won’t cost you eight euros. That kind of local insight is worth more than fancy toiletries, you know? Plus, there’s this little pizzeria about two blocks down – I can’t remember the name, but it’s the one with the red awning – that does these incredible supplì that are basically reason enough to stay in the neighborhood. Would I come back? Yeah, probably. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, the location works if you’re actually here to see Rome (not just your hotel room), and for what you pay, you’re getting a pretty decent base camp for exploring the city.

Reviews
My best stay in Rome. – Thi from Thailand – 8 June 2025 (9/10)
I booked a single room but was upgraded to a bigger one which is quite new, very clean and spacious for the whole stay. I love its window view looking down the street. I had a big luggage and both Francesco and Dennis helped me out to carry it up and down. No one was physically at the reception but Dennis showed up anytime upon request. I really appreciate their service and hospitality and Will definitely come back next time in Rome! Many thanks Dennis!
What could be improved: NoneI will recommend – Ghulam from United Kingdom – 12 April 2025 (9/10)
All good, I love the location,
Late check in costs €40 I didn’t know because I didn’t read all terms ,Pretty good – Fares from Germany – 18 December 2024 (9/10)
Very clean & well located, room looks exactly like the photos
What could be improved: Heating is available but it’s kinda loud I couldn’t sleep while it’s onVery good – Michal from Poland – 23 September 2024 (8/10)
Good location close to train station, Ideal in case you need short stay for 1 person when waiting for your flight.
Wonderful time in Rome – Lijana from Lithuania – 11 March 2024 (7/10)
Comfortable.
What could be improved: A little bit cold at night in March. The property has a good location, not far from the metro station(10min walk) and a lot of restaurants and mini markets c – Nicolas from Austria – 18 February 2024 (6/10)
The staff was very nice and the cleaning service was very regularly organised. It was only 10 minutes by walk to Termini metro station and it has a lot of restaurants and mini markets close by. It also had Netflix and Amazon prime for entertainment after a long day.
What could be improved: The air conditioning system wasn’t good, it’s either you have cold air to get sick while sleeping or heated air with bad oxygen quality. And the floor of the room was very cold as well.Everything was good – Erkan from Turkey – 5 February 2024 (9/10)
Staff was very helpful and friendly, thanks to them
Nice quiet hotel near the main station – Helge from Germany – 7 December 2023 (9/10)
Quiet , clean. And because of the decoration, the place seems to be bigger than it is.
Very good – Paola from United Kingdom – 9 October 2023 (8/10)
The man at reception was very helpful and welcoming. Always available in WhatsApp.
What could be improved: The room had only high windows and in the booking it said it had a balcony, but it didn't.
The entrance was difficult to find at the beginning.Close to train, great price, friendly staff – Laura from United States – 21 September 2023 (7/10)
Great hotel for the value, tucked away, close to the metro train, awesome staff. We came in and out a lot and didn’t interact much but the check in and out process was simple and seamless. Streaming abilities on the TV at night were great to help unwind. Stairs required to walk up to lobby although there is an elevator.. it must not connect to the floor of the hotel. No problem for us but another guest needed assistance and the front desk concierge was eager to assist and extremely kind about it. He was also extremely helpful and knowledgeable.. pulled out a city map, and proceeded to circle the major landmarks, transportation routes, and gave good suggestions. We had a great stay in this quieter area of city.
What could be improved: It was a nice place for a two night stay coming right off the train from a long day of travel, was good to be close. It was a little further out walking distance for attractions but the price was great.
