Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Rome, and Castel Sant’Angelo SuiteLux honestly surprised me. First thing you notice when you walk up to 97 Piazza della Rovere is how quiet this little corner of Trastevere actually is – I mean, you’re still in the heart of everything, but it doesn’t feel like you’re sleeping on top of a nightclub. The building itself has this understated elegance that fits perfectly with the neighborhood’s vibe, you know? Not trying too hard to be flashy, just… solid.

What really got me was the attention to detail inside. The suites (and they actually feel like suites, not just rooms with a fancy name) have this perfect balance of modern comfort and Roman character. I’m talking about real space to spread out, which – let’s be honest – is pretty rare in central Rome unless you’re dropping serious cash. The bathrooms are particularly well done, with those rainfall showers that actually work properly. You know what I mean if you’ve ever been disappointed by fancy-looking fixtures that barely trickle water. The staff here gets it right, too. Check-in was smooth, and they knew the neighborhood well enough to point me toward the good gelato place on Via della Lungara instead of the touristy spots.

Here’s the thing about this location – you’re literally a five-minute walk from Castel Sant’Angelo (hence the name, obviously), but more importantly, you’re positioned perfectly for exploring both sides of the river. Cross Ponte Cavour and you’re in the thick of historic Rome, or wander deeper into Trastevere and you’ll find yourself in those winding cobblestone streets where locals actually eat. I found myself cutting through Piazza Trilussa most evenings, grabbing a drink at one of the wine bars tucked away in the side streets. The area gets lively at night – this is Trastevere, after all – but the hotel’s positioning keeps you just removed enough from the main party zones that you can actually sleep. Parking’s a bit of a challenge if you’re driving (honestly, don’t drive in Rome if you can help it), but there’s a garage nearby if you absolutely need it. The 9.4 rating makes sense once you’ve been there – it’s the kind of place that handles the basics exceptionally well while adding those little touches that make you feel like you picked the right spot. Not groundbreaking, but consistently good at what it does.

  Super host, super accommodation. Very clean, tidy, modern. Special thanks that my elderly parents and I were able to book the accommodation earlier. They were very helpful. Communication is fine. Everything is easily accessible from the accommodation, one street from the Vatican, restaurants, breakfast cafe, etc… in short, we can only recommend it.

  Very nice and SPACIOUS apartment. We were 3 people, so it was perfect for us! If You dont want to walk or use public transport, taxi will be ~20-25€ per ride to the city center (like Colosseum). You can easily walk to St. Peters squre. We did it couple of time in the evening after resting in the apartment. There are a lot of restaurants aroud, it took us ~10min walk max. Also very convenient to have mini markets downstairs for water or snacks.
  In few comments i read about the stairs. Its perfectly normal in Italy that there is no elevator. And the stairs was very wide. Of course if You have very big suitcases it can be inconvenient

  Amazing location in Trastevere, within walking distance to Vatican City and comfortable walking distance to other major attractions in Rome. The apartment was very spacious for 5 people and the facilities were fantastic. Manolo was a great host – helping my friends with their luggage when they arrived and was very responsive to our requests.
