The narrow cobblestone streets around here are filled with those little wine bars and gelaterias that locals actually frequent, not just the tourist traps. You can’t do much better for exploring Rome on foot from this vantage point. The neighborhood offers an authentic Roman experience that larger hotels simply cannot replicate.

The room I stayed in had this wonderful mix of contemporary design and classic Roman touches — think exposed beams paired with sleek modern fixtures. What struck me most was the attention to detail; the lighting was actually thoughtfully designed, and the bathroom felt spacious despite the building’s historic constraints. The beds are genuinely comfortable, and the soundproofing works well considering you’re in the heart of the city. Each element contributes to a restful retreat after days of sightseeing.

Neighborhood Life

One thing I really appreciated was how CasaCau connects you to authentic Roman life. There’s this fantastic little restaurant called Il Chianti just around the corner that serves proper Roman cuisine — none of the touristy stuff you’ll find near the fountain. The morning walks to grab coffee at the local bars became part of my daily routine. You’ll find yourself naturally falling into the Roman rhythm of things, which honestly doesn’t happen when you’re staying in the more commercial hotel districts. The location truly immerses you in local culture.
